PRESIDENTIAL DEBATE III (live thread)

45 minutes to go. If there is already a live debate thread go ahead and delete this.
I understand posting a live thread has become a somewhat of a political ordeal here, when it shouldn't be. So to take the pressure off, I'm posting this anyway. Do I dare? LOL!

I think that alot of Republicans are backing the Yankess for the first time. Like me. I'm a PO'd off Sox fan right now - but I think I know what you mean. Let Hillary's Yankees take down Kerry's team - if he even knows how many runs make a field goal.
That said, it's unfortunate that it's mixed up with politics in this way - because the Sox - like my other adopted team - the Giants - are great almost-there teams that are stuck in lunatic leftist asylums.

I listened mostly also (headphones while I cleaned house, hubby had baseball playing) and came to many of your same conclusions: Bush sounded energetic and down to earth; Kerry the statistic-spewing robot. I didn't like that Bush appeared to be often on the defense, though he played the position well.
To: Motherbear
Jay Leno just had an attack dog win the poll for Bush!
He had two guys dressed up: one wearing a Kerry mask and the other a Bush mask. They let the dog go and he ran straight for Kerry and tore him up. It was hilarious!
Go Bush!
To: Fledermaus
No, this is good. If Dick says Bush lost, that means he won. LOL

That comment is rude and unnecessary here, imo. I wasn't the one who started down this road. Take it up with those that did.

These polls are nothing but ( PUFFY DOUGH BALLS WITH AIR ) or ? ( MEAN NASTY DOG WITH NO TEETH ) when us Conservatives get galvanized, we always win. The DEMS are nothing but a bunch of hot air, NO SUBSTANSE. WE STILL HAVE THE MAJORTY, IF WE GET GALVANIZED. WE STILL OUTNUMBER THEM.

The effect will be marginal, and the effect will be the chat folks pick up afterwords about the debate. Debates sometimes have more of an impact from the spin then from the debates themselves, up to a point.I actually thought Bush looked a tad Reaganesque at times this evening. Rather than do an "ummmm" while looking in the camera, he'd pause and look down briefly while thinking. So much more effective.
I agree that post-debate spin is everything. Bush "lost" debate 1 by a small margin in insta-polls, which later translated to a crushing margin in subsequent polls.
Similarly, Gore "wins" in 2000 later turned into defeats when the dust settled.
