SPRING GREEN, WI -- Former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani visited Spring Green, Wisconsin today where he unveiled the Debate Briefing Book for Senator Kerry (as prepared by Bush-Cheney '04) and issued the following statement. "Senator Kerry has taken so many different positions on the issues facing the country that we thought he would benefit from the overview of the most interesting debate -- the one John Kerry is having with himself. He's been for the war, against the war and for it and against it again. Last week, he became an anti-war candidate again. This is a fatal flaw and the American people see through it. John Kerry is not able to take a principled position and is the wrong choice to guide America through this critical time." Get your copy of Senator Kerry's Debate Briefing Book by clicking here.

Realizing that four years is a lifetime, can you suggest someone, at this point, who could beat Rudy No I can't, but as you say four years is a lifetime -- I have faith someone will emerge.
And I'm not kickin' Rudy off the team, just saying we have to think long and about shifting left when we truly need to keep moving right - and quickly.
But your point is well taken: we also can't afford to lose!

Realizing that four years is a lifetime, can you suggest someone, at this point, who could beat Rudy? Now there's a good question to consider. Stuff changes, good guys pop up, but just considering who's available just now, Rudie's it. Personally, I'd prefer him on top at FBI/CIA OSS redux, or whatever they decide to call it. See if he could cut the mustard there.
As for the old wifey/kidlet - I seem to remember how bratty that boy was while Rudy was trying to give a speach, I remember my wife saying Rudy shoulda slapped him down. The kid was all over the microphone/podium and mom watched indulgently and didn't call him down.

Rudy's the only one who could beat Hillary. All the others mentioned, except McCain, would get nowhere.

Sorry Rudy...you will not have this freeper's support for the GOP nod in 08. It is always a worthwhile goal to be idealistic. But, come election time in '08 and it is Hillary vs. Rudy, idealism falls by the wayside and realism will come out to the front.

If the GOP is to maintain even a semblance of conservatism, Rudy must NOT be given the top spot in 08. The moderate and RINOs of the party know that Rudy would only get a vote from conservatives if Shrillerly is the Rat nominee. They expect her to be so they're getting Guliani into position now.

For the Rat party, Bubba's behavior did not count one whit. They wanted to win at all costs. Look at the destruction its caused them. My hope is that the GOP doen't follow their lead by putting political expediency ahead of basic decent standards.

I just love the fact that the entire document is done in (one form or another) of Courier, a fixed width font.

Me either. He did a good job during 9-11 and such, gave a good speech at the convention, but the Republican Party will have to work hard in 2008 to get my vote again. After this election.

(Idealism is fine, but as it approaches reality the cost becomes prohibitive.)
To: KantianBurke
Unfortunately it seems that we have lost the argument of ideology, as the 'conservative' wing disappeared during the Reagan years. This country has continued to slide left on a fast track since FDR and we continue to be on that express train. Bush I & II recognize that and are (have) attempted, not to derail it, but to slow it down a tad.
RR stopped the train for awhile, but I am afraid it was just a respite before the left got it back on track once again.
During the primaries, I will vote my heart and during the election I will vote for anyone but a Democrat. In California, that means we have to settle for people like Arnold, while real Conservatives are branded as fascists by the hate spewing left. A sad situation indeed.

Wrong. EVERYBODY listens when Rudy talks.
Go get'em Rudy.

I agree. I think McCain would self-destruct given enough time. No one else has the stature.

I've admired him for quite a while, even though I'm not in Colorado. He has the courage of his convictions and isn't afraid to swim upstream for something he believes in. His stance on illegal immigration is one of truth and justice... as someone living in the SouthWest, he understands just how desperately we are being affected by unchecked immigration --
The committees he serves on: Committee Membership: House Committee on Budget - 15 House Committee on International Relations - 15 Subcommittee on Asia and the Pacific - 10 Subcommittee on International Terrorism Nonproliferation and Human Rights - 8 House Committee on Resources - 18 Subcommittee on Forests and Forest Health - 5 Subcommittee on Water and Power - 4
