This needs to be sent to Drudge!! Can you imagine what it would have been like if a Bush supporter had done a terrible thing like this to a 3 year old holding a Kerry sign. Gutless bastards. JUST DAMN!!!

I didn't say he shouldn't have gone, I just think he shouldn't have brought the kid. There is nothing wrong with educating your kids in their civic duty but he should have known that would have been a hostile environment. He didn't useh is brain. Shame on him.

I don't know if he knew what happens at dem events. I think too many people here think like insiders. We all expect union goons at dem rallies and protests. I think he probably thought that it would be a bunch of dems there simply cheering their guy on. People talk about getting their kids involved in the political process all the time, and that could have very well happened and why he went. I don't know as I can't speak for him.
I know how the left operates firsthand from experience. Most that read FR have seen cases of it posted from time to time. Hell, I'm not sure that even most of the activists I know even know the tactics of these goons, as most don't counterprotest.
It's easy for us to be armchair QB's after the fact, especially if we've seen it first hand. I don't think the dad was wrong for it. It's not too much to ask, even from the goon squad to leave the kids alone.
I just wish he had some backup.

I'm glad I wasn't there for this.
If I had been, some of these thugs would have gone to the hospital, and I would have gone to jail.

Who's the creep on the left smirking at her? Check out the sister yelling at them. She is looking straight at little Sophia.

>i feel more sorry for the little girl who's being brought up >as a freeper than i do her sign was torn up.
A quote from this link. I am stunned by the monsters on that board. I had a debate (I thought it was anyway) on a mailing list once and she told me hated me more than anything and wished I was in front of her so she could punch me in the face. I assumed she was just nuts by herself. Now I see how venenous and unreal these beasts are. One person said "the little brat probably tore it up herself", etc... These people are hell bound.

Just curious---why are they at an appearance by John Edwards with a Bush-Cheney sign? Why did the father take his daughter there???? Not good judgement on his part.

The little girl looks so sad and the father looks like he regrets taking her there. Don't get mad at me but I think the father was wrong for bringing his kids to that rally. He should have gone alone or brought a couple of buddies with him.I guess I have a different take on this. I think the man probably had his children there, thinking they might be treated with respect by folks in his community with opposing views.
I guess he maybe thought that "peaceful demonstration" was what this country is all about. I'm sure he'll never make THAT MISTAKE again. In my opinion, the father looks disgusted that he underestimated the venom of the Kerry supporters (thugs).
That said, nomatter WHAT the circumstances....I don't care if I ran into the most rabid Kerry supporter, and they were screaming at me....if they had a child with them, they would be OFF LIMITS. That is the way Conservatives, as a whole, think. Some of those who support Kerry, obviously have no regard for children.

Not surprising. That's what communist (democRATs/liberals) do. "Free speech for me, but not for thee," is their motto.

I don't think Drudge is going to use the photo. Articles are starting to change on his site, but this one isn't showing up. Give it time. This story needs to be checked before running with it. Gotta make sure the guy wasn't at the airport trying to cause trouble or something. If everything checks out and he's clean, he'll be on Hannity or Rush's show by Monday. JMHO, anyway.
