(KSL News - Salt Lake City) Conservative KSL talk show host Sean Hannity says he wants to debate controversial liberal movie director Michael Moore on the campus of UVSC. Hannity's comments come after UVSC agreed to pay Moore $40,000 to speak on campus.
Hannity called into KSL's Doug Wright Show Thursday morning to respond to requests that he appear at Utah Valley State College. The request comes after an uproar over the UVSC student council voting to pay Moore to deliver a speech at the conservative college.
Some students are furious the school is offering to pay Moore, whom they view as a vicious critic of President Bush. The student council says while they may not agree with Moore's views they believe it's their job to bring people of various views to speak to students.

Does Moore really need to charge $40K to speak? He made over $100 MM with his lie-filled disengenuous movie. Add this to the list of hypocracies for this "average" guy.

So many college students cry poverty when their tuition goes up $100 a year. Yet they don't blink when they pay out $100,000's to various leftist speakers at their colleges.
You're spot on here.
The real problem for Hannity (an us) is that O'Reilly is Harvard and Hannity is Empty Suit U.
But if Moore brings up that "Bush lied" BS again, maybe someone can ask him if he thinks Blair lied too. Maybe someone can ask Moore if he knows who Bernard Lewis is and whether he respects his opinions.

They are: Students Seek Recall Over Michael Moore - Recalling the Student Body Officers and the Moore Speach!
lets just say the police would meet him at the door
I talked the UVSC police chief yesterday. He stated that he was almost kicked out of the meeting (when they proposed that MM come), when he stated that Moore would be a security head-ache for him and that he didn't particularly care for Moore either. He also told me he wanted to see them bring in Dennis Miller to counter/make a mockery of Moore.

See post #25. Unfortunately, in general, you are correct.
Ping
I don't know why Moore is even on any show.
If I were the parent of a student, I think my child and my money would be somewhere else next semester.
The only way to get through to these academic types (even the very few conservative ones) is to block their funding.
Here is a transcript from the debate
Hannity: evil exists
Moore: Bush lied
Hannity: Evil exists
Moore: Bush stole the election
Hannity: Evil exists
Moore: anyone got a slice of pizza?
Hannity: buy my book
-PS while I might no like Hannity very much he would be Moore in a debate.
There is talk of bringing in Michael Reagan also.
And Hannity has an empty diploma jacket from ESU. I've yet to see Sean hold his own with a liberal, he gets toasted every time. Picture Hannity arguing with Flipper over whether she eats chicken. That's the sort of intellectual equipment Hannity brings to a discussion.
Agreed . . . on the surface that sounds like a lot of money. BUT it's only 50 centavos a pound.
Really, and there was a big to-do about Utah college tuition going up 43% the other day.
I vote we bring in...........
LAURA INGRAHAM!!!!
The problem with Michael Moore is not that he is a "vicious critic" of Bush.
The problem with Michael Moore is that he is an outrageous liar.
Michael Moore can't survive a debate with an informed opponent. Even Katie Couric ripped him apart a couple of weeks ago.
Let's face it. Michael Moore is a skilled liar, and he's good with rhetoric. Hannity would get his clock cleaned in a debate with Moore.
That is, of course, if Michael can stop eating long enough to do the debate.
I agree with another poster: Laura Ingraham would be a heck of a lot better.
