A senior House Republican has formally requested a congressional investigation into an apparent criminal conspiracy to rig the 2004 presidential election by forging records from President Bush's National Guard service and having them reported by CBS News.
In a letter Tuesday night to Rep. Fred Upton, R-Mich., chairman of the Subcommittee of Telecommunications and the Internet, Rep Christopher Cox, R-Calif., called for a probe into what he described as "the continued use by CBS News of apparently forged documents concerning the service record of President George W. Bush intended to unfairly damage his reputation and influence the outcome of the 2004 presidential election."
You are welcome. Some think this might not be good timing and the points they bring up are good. We shall see. I am just very impressed by the positive reception President Bush gets where ever he goes. The support behind him is strong, and as long as we do our part to make sure everyone votes, we should be in good shape! :)
I agree. This will just make us like a-holes and Rather will hide behind the First Amendment. Better to let him fry in the court of public opinion.
Why not? It keeps the subject on the forgery and off Kitty... and her trashy book (they should add her and her non-sources to the investigation)... also keeps it off the economy, jobs, etc., and allows the Swifty's to beat up on sKerry some more (they have a new add coming out). At this point if we really got a bounce out of the convention, getting people riled up over the crooks isn't a bad thing...
I do to. Everyone is saying how "focused" Kerry was on foreign matters and how "lately" he's been all over the place --ummm -- lately he's not had Sandy Burglar to spoon feed him what to say!
Unlike the 2nd Amendment gurlieMan we have as a Gov
GREAT stuff! Thanks for the ping :o)

FReepers & Lurkers, Good Evening,
The time has come for us to take action. Although I am a relative newcomer to Free Republic, I have quickly come to recognize the importance and strength of this great organization.

Thanks for pinging, Misty.
Looks like Rather is about to be hoisted by his own iron.
If the investigation of a third-rate burglary created havoc in the Nixon White House, think what a Congressional investigation of felony fraud, forgery and cover-up will create in the little personnel universe of CBS, the DNC and the Kerry campaign.
The mover & shaker people in this vibrant lib nexus are even now communicating along secret channels--trying to figure out a way to slip out of the tightening noose.
Once subpoena power enters stage right the flop-sweat will begin to ooze in earnest. Some big names are headed for a serious tumble in this one.
Let's get the hearing room assigned, C-Span notified, the press passes issued and the small herd of cameramen hunched down in front of the witness table.
It should be real interesting to see how the whole event is handled by the MSM--especially CBS Evening News.
Could we be so lucky that the person who is the source is the Clintonist's
Politics is war by other means and I say go for it. We have live ammo on our side in this one, and all they've been doing is shooting blanks.
Or is that too "partisan?"
I don't care where they come from, but subpoenas have to be issued. If people are paying attention, they realize the MSM and cable news aren't going after CBS for their sources and chain of custody information. They are going after its journalistic integrity. There is no way the DNC and the Kerry Campaign will be directly implicated until people *in the know* are faced with telling the truth or sacrificing their own careers.
Well then, I guess we can't go after CBS because they have no "journslistic integrity".
Thanks for the Ping.
IMHO, the Kerry "horse" is mortally wounded. Beating it too hard might look like a dreaded "partisan attack". Sure wrong is wrong, and all that, but let's win the election first.
Well, well, well. I hope this takes hold.
The republicans have learned not to overplay their hand in the 90's. That doesn't mean lay down and die but tread carefully.
Cox is a good man. There was talk of Bush putting him in for a spot on the 9th circuit but Boxer and Feinstien went ape nuts over the idea.
If the D's continue to implode maybe the R's will pick up enough Senate seats and Bush will have his "mandate" so that Cox can be nominated to straighten out that renegade circus court.
No, I hadn't. Thanks!

This is the most coherent and best response I have seen to these charges against President Bush. We need to spread this around

This is the best live ammo I have seen so far.

You are welcome.
Just spread this around as much as possible. Send it to all the news stations and Dan Rather in particular. :)

You are welcome.
Please use the information contained herein to refute the claims of the dems. It is the best analysis I have seen of President Bush's record.
