Arnold is not a conservative. He never was and he is big on "gun control". Until the democrats are removed from the majority in the legislature Californians will continue to get hosed.
Arnolds previous remarks about "gun control" show that he is either ignorant or incredibly misinformed...either way citizens exercising their Second Amendment Rights are "at risk" in the "Golden State".

This is sad... especially in an era of terrorism like we have today, that those of us who are law-abiding citizens, many of us ex-military, cannot possess the reasonable arms of choice to defend our lives, liberty and property.
The ban is silly to anyone who knows their weaponry.
P.S. I voted for McClintock.

I'm not surprised, but you know the saying - hope springs eternal. Reality just rolled right over hope.

AB50 bans the 50 BMG rifle. But nobody needs one of those, anyway. They're no good for hunting.Depends on what you're hunting. I like Cadillacs in the Navada desert, personally.

I'm thinking about buying a receiver before the law goes into effect. I never particularly wanted one, but now that I'm told I can't have one, my contrary nature is kicking in.

I voted for McClintockSo did I. It was pretty clear to me from Arnold's comments during his campaign that he wasn't exactly pro-second amendment.

Strike 1? Strike all. He's out, as far I'm concerned. The distinction is clear now. Never to be supported again for any reason except righting of these wrongs.
Nice of him to clear this up now right before the election.

The "BIG GOVERNMENT, BROTHER IS WATCHING YOU" crowd is picking, picking, picking away at ALL of our individual rights. They are going to continue until government controls every aspect of our lives. It is sickening.

The only thing that bothers me about this thread is Arnold never claimed to be a conservative. He is a fiscal conservative (by California standards) but he is a social liberal. Once again people have to ask themselves do they want part of the pie or none of the pie? I hazard to guess that had Gray Davis still been in office this bill would have been even more draconian.
I totally support 2nd amendment rights. But if people want to live in the Peoples Republic of California they shouldn't be surprised that the mentality is what it is.
To: California Patriot
This is the continuing assault on the Second Amendment in California...Kerry is all over the news tonight fear mongering over the IGNORANT sheep about the expiration of the "Assault Weapons Ban".
I don't give props to any politician that doesn't have a basic understanding of the very document he swears an oath to. This applies to even those with an "R" after their name.
