This is sad... especially in an era of terrorism like we have today, that those of us who are law-abiding citizens, many of us ex-military, cannot possess the reasonable arms of choice to defend our lives, liberty and property.

The ban is silly to anyone who knows their weaponry.

P.S. I voted for McClintock.

I'm thinking about buying a receiver before the law goes into effect. I never particularly wanted one, but now that I'm told I can't have one, my contrary nature is kicking in.

So did I. It was pretty clear to me from Arnold's comments during his campaign that he wasn't exactly pro-second amendment.

Can you explain in really non-weapon-expert terms why we needed this gun legal? I am really ignorant about these things but I support gun ownership rights and believe that guns save way more lives than they hurt. (I lived in Switzerland for 9 years, too.)
