Gary Killian, son of the "author" of the CBS memos, just stated on air that when he tried to bring to CBS's attention the likelihood that the memos supposedly written by his father were dubious, they ignored his input, as well as his suggestion that they talk with some of Bush's co-pilots who would've vouched for Bush's performance as an Air Guardsman!
Rest assured, my letter to the president of CBS News is in the making. For whatever good it will do. Rather has more power there than anybody so it will likely do no good.

I just listened to the interview a second time on Hannity's tape delay here in OK. My opinion of CBS was low before but now they are at the very bottom and should be sued by everyone involved starting with Rather for knowingly putting false documents on the air and claiming they were legit. They were told they were phoney and they ran with the story because of their anti-Bush bias IMO.
This just gets better and better as everything is getting tied together between the media and the RATs.
The WhiteHouse should pull all CBS press credentials due to the open attempt to fraudulently slander the President with obvious forgeries. Since they are not acting as a serious news outlet they don't deserve the access.
Rather's idea of a defense of these documents, is to trash the Guard. Then the documents are just typical of the corruption.
It's like Kerry's atrocities claim. Smear the service to make a political point. Who needs truth, who needs proof, when they can sling mud?
I don't care about fonts, kerning, etc...to me the devasting memo is the reprimand/suspension memo prior to the deadline....this memo was written in May and Bush had til Aug 31st....a memo like that would not have gone out until Aug, or most probably Sept.
Drudge just changed the typeface of all Rather-related links to Times Roman or whatever was used in the forged docs.

This week has been great. Gotta love Dan Blather getting caught doing PRECISELY the same thing the elitist journalists always accuse Drudge of doing.

That is not how they suspend someone from flying either. Missing a flight physical means the flight surgeon will notify the Command that grounding due to missing a physical is in order, the head Flight Surgeon will then endose which, in turn, gets sent to the Commander of the Squadron who then endorses and gives the order for orders to be cut for the pilot to be grounded. None of these memo's were official as they did not include endorsements nor paperwork from the flight surgeon's office that he was being grounded. It has to be official like is in the official jacket and a Memo would never be used.
Our Headquarters Command Surgeon received all groundings due to missing flight physicals and circumstances involved. Not transitioning to a new aircraft and getting out of the service would have been an extenuating circumstance and they would have issued orders he was grounded in order to stop the flight pay. If he decided at a later date to return to the cockpit, he would have the physical and be cleared by the flight surgeon to fly who would go through the same steps to get him reinstated and orders would be issued putting the pilot back on flying status and flight pay would resume.
My boss was the only General Officer that was going to continue to receive flight pay in our Command after they issued a regulation General Officers would no longer get flight pay. My boss was a flight surgeon and under different rules. He finally asked to be grounded so he wouldn't continue to receive flight pay since he was the only one at staff meetings receiving flight pay. The Commander signed off and orders were cut grounding him in order to stop the flight pay.
