CBSNEWS LAUNCHES INTERNAL INVESTIGATION AFTER SUSPICIOUS BUSH DOCS AIRED

**Exclusive**

CBS NEWS executives have launched an internal investigation into whether its premiere news program 60 MINUTES aired fabricated documents relating to Bush's National Guard service, the DRUDGE REPORT has learned.

"The reputation and integrity of the entire news division is at stake, if we are in error, it will be corrected," a top CBS source explained late Thursday.

The source, who asked not to be named, described CBSNEWS anchor and 60 MINUTES correspondent Dan Rather as being privately "shell-shocked" by the increasingly likelihood that the documents in question were fraudulent.

Rather, who anchored the segment presenting new information on the president's military service, will personally correct the record on-air, if need be, the source explained from New York.

So basically, CBS is saying that they verbally asked people if what is written in the documents sound real. Upon their answering in the affirmative, CBS went to air stating that the documents were real without ever having the documents looked at.

I posted someof this on another thread, but I'll repeat it here to support your comments.

Before hightailing it out of DC, I was a policy wonk, working with some big names on behalf of the 'little people.' Some of the policy issues I covered were the Internet and political participation. But what these wonks really wanted was to tell people what they should read and what was authoritative (particularly how MSM was going to create and maintain control of online news), with the result being that everyone would just 'naturally' come to agree on what was right (as long as it was left, of course)

It just thrills me to see outlets such as FR standing the wonks and the MSM on their ears. Almost everything they thought about the Net was wrong. The only thing they got right was their fear that power would be in the hands of the people.

I have heard Hannity and Hewitt both credit Freepers with breaking this story. Kudos...to all those freepers this morning who compiled these stories and sent them on ...I am convinced that without you the documents would never have been discredited. If these documents are fakes, and it appears almost certain that they are, then CBS will no longer have any legitimate claim to being a news source. The veneer is off.

Now, I want the REST of the "memos" 60 Minutes is so famous for "uncovering" to be authenticated. They should be included in their investigation.

Rather needs to be Lynndied.

So what does doing a Lynndie involve? Here are the basic instructions:

1. Find a victim who deserves to be "Lynndied".

2. Make sure you have a friend nearby with a camera ready to capture the "Lynndie".

3. Stick a cigarette (or pen) in your mouth and allow it to hang slightly below the horizontal.
