CBSNEWS LAUNCHES INTERNAL INVESTIGATION AFTER SUSPICIOUS BUSH DOCS AIRED

**Exclusive**

CBS NEWS executives have launched an internal investigation into whether its premiere news program 60 MINUTES aired fabricated documents relating to Bush's National Guard service, the DRUDGE REPORT has learned.

"The reputation and integrity of the entire news division is at stake, if we are in error, it will be corrected," a top CBS source explained late Thursday.

The source, who asked not to be named, described CBSNEWS anchor and 60 MINUTES correspondent Dan Rather as being privately "shell-shocked" by the increasingly likelihood that the documents in question were fraudulent.

Rather, who anchored the segment presenting new information on the president's military service, will personally correct the record on-air, if need be, the source explained from New York.

My prediction....

The results of the internal investigation:

Upper management releases the following memo...

"This situation has been very embarassing for CBS. From now on, ALL document forgeries shall be created by our experts. The various individual "news" departments are no longer allowed to create their own forgeries. This is NOT optional."

Thanks for posting this thread and thanks to Free Republic!

My tagline is still quite pertinent, but jeez I'm having a good night.

This is big news. Biggest in a while.

The MSM over the last 25 years, has basically attempted a coup on the American people. They had just about succeeded until--- AND THAT'S WHY ---the internet and Fox came along.

I just checked the LA Times and they were still showing the original story citing the "60 Min" documents as evidence. I wrote them at the news desk and said the WashPost and ABC News were calling the doc's forgeries: DON"T YOU THINK IT's TIME TO TAKE THESE FAKE DOCUMENTS OFF YOUR WEBSITE???? DON'T YOU GUYS READ THE PAPERS?!

No, not the Post.

Remember, Print hates TV.

TV reporters get big $, big egos, big perks, and get la*d a lot when the locals recognize them.

Pencil geeks get inky hands.

No, the Pest will LOVE this.

What is REALLY stupid about that is that the REAL documents from the 111th F.I.S. (and THAT's how they wrote it!) simply used "111th" - - The squadron just typed it on a regular typewriter style any regular paperwork-hating fighter pilot would do.

Somebody gonna try to tell you that a private (illegal) memo would be typed up by an officer (who couldn't type! in the first place) for his own records, and that officer is going to swap out and replace a typewriter ball (JUST FOR ONE KEYSTROKE) ?!?!?!?? then re-replace the typewriter ball and keep on going?

I think it was Jeff Birnbaum, but his analysis still holds.

I'll bet Rather is going to regret big time not retiring in the past few years. He could have gone out on a high point (in his own mind, at least).

Now he may go out and forever be known as Fakir Dan, the Flim-Flam Man.

(I kinda like the terms Flim Flam and Flip Flop in the news of the day).

This is the best refutation of the private memos that I have seen. Connell (Killian's widow) said Killian did not type, and though he did take notes, they were usually on scraps of paper. "He was a person who did not take copious notes," she said. "He carried everything in his mind."

The Next 60 Minutes Story!

60 Minutes is prepared to break stunning news this Sunday, as John F. Kerry reveals for the first time the identity of the CIA man who gave him the magic hat!

tickticktick

"It was Dick Cheney," Kerry says.

This might seem unbelievable, but consider the facts. Cheney, when asked whether he served in Vietnam in the armed forces, has said he "had more important things to do." It now seems obvious that those more important things to do included spying in Cambodia, according to a memo that 60 Minutes has obtained from confidential sources. Our experts have verified that the document appears to be legitimate.

tickticktick

Christmas Eve, 1968

From: President Richard S. Nixon
To: Lt (j.g.) Kerry, USN

Merry Christmas! You are hereby ordered to escort CIA man and future Vice President Richard V. Cheney to Cambodia up the secret canal to Cambodia. Furthermore, upon your return to America you are to slander all Vietnam veterans by calling them baby killers and village burners. You must keep quiet about this order for the rest of your life. You are a true American hero, but this must be kept secret.

60 Minutes questioned Senator Kerry about the story. It took a little urging, but finally the gaunt solon opened his ever-present briefcase and opened up a secret compartment and removed an ancient, mildewy hat. Wordlessly, he opened up the brim of the hat and pulled out a card, on which was neatly printed, in 17-point Garamond: Property of CIA: Richard V. Cheney.

tickticktick

At stake and already lost in your zeal to slander a sitting United States President, you scumbag. Turn out the lights. CBS is history.

Hey Geronimo,

I've felt the same way for a looooong time.

Perhaps the tip of the iceberg of their lies is beginning to melt.

Polls are pointing that way and so are the lamestreams ratings.

Can't happen soon enough for me!

There is nothing in the bogus documents or the crap from the Globe that shows that Bush did not meet his required drill points.
