'60 Minutes' Documents on Bush Might Be Fake
(CNSNews.com) - The 32-year-old documents produced Wednesday by the CBS News program "60 Minutes," shedding a negative light on President Bush's service in the Texas Air National Guard, may have been forged using a current word processing program, according to typography experts. Three independent typography experts told CNSNews.com they were suspicious of the documents from 1972 and 1973 because they were typed using a proportional font, not common at that time, and they used a superscript font feature found in today's Microsoft Word program. More to Come
LOL!!
Way to keep it bumped, Howlin!!!
See BS ain't See BS for nothing.......
Rather will claim it was a double-Watergate and a secret Bush agent switched the files.
Great job on that memo!
In a sane world, THIS would have been the end of him.
Ditto!
Those that did the legwork on this and the AP story deserve high praise! Dan Rather ought to turn over his check to you.
Connie Chung would never have let this happen.
This would be both slander and libel - the interview on television is slander, and forged military lies are libel.
However, forging military documents that "supposedly" came from the Pentagon is going to get someone decades in the brig.
It makes me wonder.....is Sandy Berger singing to save his a$$?

Yes, and Danny boy will get all of that from his secret DNC decoder ring!!
From Drudge...

I don't think CBS would deliberately perpetrate such a hoax-at least one that could be so easily exposed. The real tantalizing question is what will they do next? Admit it and apologize? Blame the Bush campaign for planting it? My guess is they bury both stories and pretend it never happened.
Sure do!
There's disputing accounts of whether IBM (or other) typewriters at the time could make the fonts and typefaces (if there's a difference between the two) at that time.
What I want to know from those that allege any typewriter could not make such typefaces, or that the post Bush was at wouldn't have the machines that could, can you say that to an absolute degree of certainty, and how exactly do you base your personal knowledge of this?
Not meaning to make this into a question of credibility, but I would like to, on this thread, separate speculation from fact as much as possible.
FOFL!!!!
Dan RatherNot is sooooooooooooooo Busted!
Ooooooooooo You're bad......
The mainstream media would spend all kinds of efforts to analyze and discredit the swiftboat veteran's credible and documented multiple eyewitness accounts and yet would run with an obvious forgery if it dicredited Bush in some way. I hope this hoax is exposed and CBS and the other media hypocrits are made to look like idiots.
Word processors did not exist at that time, all there was were typewriters, the IBM selectric with the type ball was state of the art. Each character has the same ammount of width on the page with a typewriter, proportional space and superscript (with smaller characters) proves its a forgery...
Like a said last night, Howlin, your enthusiasm, commitment and energy are admirable...even though you won't get the recognition you deserve, I'd like to say THANK YOU!!!
