Guys, I am sincerely worried about Bush's new ad strategy. He is only doing positive soft-soap ads, full of generalities and no specifics, rather than attacking Kerry. He's also not responding to any of Kerry's attacks. Kerry is being very specific, talking about the 17% increase in health-care costs, etc., which could be easily responded to. If Bush keeps this up, Kerry is going to climb right back into this thing, mark my words.
lying down. this notice brought to you by grammar correction central.
Positive will win out. People are so tired of the mud-slinging, especially when it seems petty, immature and full of lies or half-truths.
That's as clever as a heart attack. Oops.
There will be charges and counter-charges for 2 months. Bush can't "answer" everything Kerry says. He does not want to look like he is on the defensive. Sometimes it is better to ignore the attacker and simply go on the attack. When Bush says "I brought seniors prescription drug coverage" well, that is his answer.
Besides, Kerry has already started bringing in some of Clinton's campaign staff. Is somebody getting worried about his campaign?
17% rise in health care costs? My Mon said "Bush is raising health care or SS costs by 17%." She had teh number right but what teh ehck was she talking about.
Kerry's next comment will be, "Well...well...what about the Dingle/Noorwood Bill?"
The Swiftees are just getting started, and wait until you see the stuff from Catholics Against Kerry...
Recall how things started out in the primaries. First Bush released some very pretty, positive commercials. Folks went nuts! The DemoncRATs were complaining about Bush running negative ads against Kerry while Kerry ran negative ads against Bush and the public could see the ads Bush was actually running. Meanwhile Dick Morris was complaining on every show he could about how Bush campaign needed to run spots against Kerry detailing his record. On and on and on.
Duh. A couple weeks later (if even that long) the first of several flip-flop ads + a gas tax one + some others were focused on the battleground states and cable news stations.
Now you'll see the same thing again. It's imperative that the campaign come out of the convention with a positive spot that highlights the agenda and points people to the President's plan, etc.. This is VERY important for the debates coming up as - you can be sure - every other sentence from Kerry will refer to some infamous plan of his, secret or otherwise. The fact Bush HAS an Agenda for the future and is continuing to promote it is key to the short term and long term success of the campaign.
Don't worry, there's plenty of time for all kinds of ads and the Bush campaign is effectively prepared with all kinds of money, now, to use in the most strategic ways possible.
Meanwhile the Kerry campaign is spending $50 MILLION in these couple weeks on spots that will not do much of anything + a movie with more of his phony battle reenactments in Vietnam.
It's called STRATEGERY ;) Guys, I am sincerely worried about Bush's new ad strategy.
PS - I'm concerned that this push coming from folks, "oh, gee, Bush isn't hitting hard enough, we've got to get this new Willie Horton out asap" is a setup by DemoncRAT trolls and their minions trying to weave angst amongst lesser experienced politicos. Recall Willie Horton stuff originated with Algore and the fact anybody (ie Soros) can fund some 527 secretly behind the scenes in a strategic blow trying to encourage some ill-advised activity on behalf of Bush supporters.
I certainly would not presume to advise the swifties on their agenda as so far they have been brilliant.
So far though also, it seems to me that Kerry's record alone ( Viet Nam & the Senate) is damaging enough.
Religion and differences in that subject area seems to me to be a matter which is potentially laden with problems.
Oh ye of little faith. We haven't even had the debates yet. Cool your jets.
How true. Geez, some people see a boogy man around every corner. Have not Dubya and Rove played this thing mssterfully so far?
I think the dems are scared s***less right now because they know that their negative campaign against the president started too soon (over a year ago) and is running out of steam. They have no new negative issues to raise and the people have already heard their cries.
Watch for the next issue to be raised that will throw Kerry off kilter! I'm telling you, these guys know what they are doing and will be campaigning hard until Nov. 3. Dubya was a student of the master, Lee Atwater, and Rove is working the grass roots like crazy.
No incumbent has lost a lead like Dubya's after Labor Day.
Bush is fighting for the soccer mom vote, who decide all elections. The wacko's got their red meat during the conventions.
remember 2002 - President Bush got Norm Coleman and other conservative Republicans elected. He will do more for himself in the next two months - in addition he will do great by people like Coors and Thune. He is helping Republicans in PA, WVa, FL and NM. Watch for more in congress in the new term + a stronger President.
The Bush dynasty in American politics was not built on being "nice" or "stupid" or letting their opponents up when they had them down. 41, notwithstanding, W is no 41!
This worry crap is ridiculous. frenchie's biggest problem in the next 7 weeks will be breaking 40%. Mark MY WORDS,
by Sept 30 the show will be so over that the only talk will be how many senate seats the rats will loose.
Besides that .. with the harshness of Zell Miller's comments and the Swifties ads, better for the President to be a little in the background at the moment.
Illinois, I agree the President will be on the attack again shortly in his ads, and he was already attacking Kerry for changing his campaign staff AGAIN, and for changing his stance on Iraq AGAIN. LOL!
I was saying "Fire Rove!" after N.H in 2000.
I think you and I should just say here and post. :o)
Your words are looking sillier and sillier. A prognosticator you are not.
