BREAKING NEWS: 2 Dozen Bush Supporters Were Inside Huntington Building
A shot was fired at the Republican Party headquarters in Huntington Thursday night, while two dozen supporters of George W. Bush watched him accept his party's nomination on television.
Huntington police said reports came in about 10:30 p.m. from the building on 4th Avenue at 14th Street. One bullet hole could be seen in a large glass window, through a sign that said marriage is between "One Man, One Woman."
Police said they had not found bullet fragments inside the headquarters and had no way of knowing what type of weapon was used.
Eyewitnesses told 13 News they heard a loud bang but weren't sure what had happened. One woman said she found pieces of glass on her neck and shoulders.
Tune in to 13 News Friday morning for more on this story.
Heads up, dude!
No, seriously, when this circulates on DU, see how long it takes them to scream "Reichstag Fire!"
They have this self-righteous indignation going on about being "oppressed". Bullshit. They are the most coddled, spoiled opposition on God's Good Earth.
Be Seeing You,
Chris
How long will it be before a shot is fired into a crowd of President Bush/Military Supporters?
I live there (here). If it were weather, or flooding, they would have interrupted the broadcast continually. Was not even the lead story after W's speech in fact, when the news DID come on. Hey, it's West Virginia, and we are 2:1 dims here. Home of Robert Byrd. You know, scare them with guns, or hoods, or burning crosses if necessary.
[Totally apologetic; most of us here are not like this (he says with a reddened face]....
It's only been 90 minutes since this happened, and the story was probably written less than a half-hour after the attack. Give them time.
I'm sure this will be the lead off story tommorrow morning....(NOT!)
May not be a gunshot. We had a series of "shootings" here some years back, where cars on the freeway were getting their windows blown out by someone. The cops could never find bullet fragments. Then they noticed lots of glass marbles lying around in the areas where the shootings were happening. They finally came to the realization that someone was perched up on a hilltop, firing marbles with a slingshot. THe marbles would shatter and mix in with the glass fragments, which is why they didn't know this was happening until whole marbles were found. If they don't find bullet fragments in this case, I'd put money on the marble/slingshot theory.
God please help protect our brothers and sisters
Liberals should use SPITBALLS in their slingshot.
You might want to trade up. A beefed up 9 will just make Michael Moore angry.
I just about fell out of my chair laughing at the "Deliverance Photo".
I sent to drudge.
bttt for later...with prayers for the innocent, and prayers that LEO catch the idiot. Now.
I think the GOP convention, with the focus on the military and values and patriotism, just sealed the deal in West Virginia for Bush. Arkansas, too.
Well, book banning/burning has been going for several months.
The dims seem to have all the characteristics don't they?
==============
No, I think it's code for "We don't wanna know."
They said they didn't find any fragments. Did they find an intact bullet?
They don't want to start something.
We have more guns and know how to use them.
My guess is that it was an emotionally-driven protest of the Republican platform's stance against gay marriage, and not meant to harm or really frighten anyone. Probably someone who cannot fathom that there is a reason (other than pure hatred) not to change the definition of marriage.
My policy is 10 shots to the torso and pause to negotiate with one left in the chamber, the clip dropped and another one in hand. I've got a Colt 1911 but it's too bulky to conceal during the summer in New England.
