Wolf Blitzer, during a roundtable discussion with two other guys, brought up the "Purple heart band-aid" gimmick used by some delegates at the GOP convention to ridicule Kerry. Wolf then said, "This kind of thing could backfire if it is viewed as a slam against veterans who DID earn their Purple Hearts."
I fell out of my chair and couldn't get to my computer fast enough to post this. Incredible faux pas by Blitzer.
Another stranger-than-strange event in the Kerry record (and the deeper you dig, the stranger it gets).
The PH was approved on Feb. 28, 1969 by a Donald Still, chief staff officer for the U.S. Naval Support Activity (NSA) in Saigon (now deceased). This is very strange, since U.S. Naval Support Activity was the logistics (not combat) command for South Vietnam. NSA handled the contruction and supply of nearly all naval bases in the Mekong Delta, including Cat Lo and Sa Dec, where Kerry was stationed.

But as mentioned, Still was essentially a Saigon logistics officer, and how Kerrys application for a PH came to his attention is a complete and utter mystery. Kerry was at no time under the command of Naval Support Activity Saigon.
One can only speculate that Kerry somehow located a "friendly ear" with a command position.
Ha! Nice gotcha!
There is definitely tacit acknowledgement in the phrasing reported here that concedes (I'm sure unintentionally by Blitzer) that Kerry did not earn his purple hearts as other vets did.
Wait a minute. Some of those people wearing band-aids were veterans. Maybe he was saying that "they" did not earn purple hearts instead of Kerry.
Emphahsis on the -IF-, which is exactly the connection the DEMs are trying to make. It won't work. Kerry's campaign has hinted that Kerry's 1st PH was not earned, and the official records describe the medical treatment as consisting ONLY of application of antisepctic and a band-aid.
Stop speaking French!
This betrays what we all know. The professional Democrat politicos, media flaks included, don't believe a word of their talking points. They're just power grubbing opportunists. Unlike the "progressives" we saw in the NY streets, who will be the last people on the planet to figure out that Marxism doesn't work.

What Wolf Blitzer WOULD HAVE SAID if he thought Kerrys Purple Heart was earned: This kind of thing could backfire if it is viewed as a slam against all Purple Heart recipients.
But, no, Blitzer made the distinction between those who really DID earn the metal and John Kerry, who did not earn it.
Blitzer is not STUPID. He knows a fraud when he sees one.
**veterans who DID earn their Purple Hearts." **
I wonder if CNN will edit it out?
Air time for this statement by Wolf was ~12:20pm on Tuesday, September 1st.
Isn't that tomorrow???????
Tuesday is Aug 31. CNN the most "trusted" name in news, seriesly funny.
Thanks guys... Rough night last night, wasn't as sharp as usual this a.m.
A Freudian slip from Howitzer Explosion Guy!
Well this is interesting.
I just checked the CNN transcripts at CNN.com (scroll all the way to the bottom and look for the "transcripts") and, as of the time of this post, the transcript of Blitzer's segment is skipped over. It jumps from the 11:30am segment to the 1:30pm segment.
Au contraire. Wolf is as dense as a morning fog. He's the turtle that others find and put on the proverbial fence post. (No doubt he never got beyond splashing around the low end of the gene pool.) The fact that he's about as charming as a dead mouse in a loaf of bread explains not only his sense of humor but also CNN's declining ratings.
It would certainly be a justified slam against any "veteran" who deems a band-aid level injury as deserving a real purple heart.
Certainly beats a smiley-face.
I'm sure if Kerry ever crosses his path and is not the President, my brother would have something to "say" to that SOB about his four months and 3 PH tour of duty in Viet Nam.
lol
Amen! I bet he would!
