There appears to have been a major shift in the last month in the U.S. presidential campaign from KERRY-IN-THE-LEAD to BUSH-IN-THE-LEAD.
And this, before the GOP Convention has really gotten underway.
It seems that Kerry supporters and Bush haters are becoming increasingly strident, stressed, psycopathic and perhaps even violent in some cases. Have you personally noticed this in your town and community?
.....Because of TeRAYyza's very public meltdown, the SwiftBoatVets, Unfit for Command's booming national sales, devastating Swiftee TV ads in battlegrounds states, and the Kerry slip in the polls?
Consider:
--A young Bush campaign supporter was sucker-punched yesterday at a Washington State political event by a Kerry supporter--right on national TV.
--Freepers report Kerry-ite "flip- offs" in traffic(middle finger salutes), increasingly desperate and irate liberal emotions, foul language, verbal abuse when they peacefully display pro-Swift Boat vet or anti-Kerry stickers on their cars.
--The national TV reporters and commentators who side with Kerry seem almost apoplectic on TV these days, babbling, whining, salivating and doing everything short of cursing or throwing ashtrays.
On this FR thread, kindly please related your own personal experience on cases of strange behavior by libs and Kerry supporters that you come across. It would help to know the "what", "when", "where" and "why", too. Perhaps there is a national sickness developing in over in the Hate Bush camp, as they see their lead evaporate and their chances of capturing the White House fade. They seem to have only have nasty, threatening and sometimes violent means to turn to now. Would you agree?
This Swiftee sticker has been on my truck for one week now. I get stopped at traffic lights every morning and asked 'where can I get that sticker' by other motorists. I get lots of toots and thumbs up and have yet to get a middle finger salute. It's beautiful to live in Bush country - Jacksonville, Florida!
SWWWEEEEEEEEEET. Best post of this thread so far. I love a happy ending :-)
Yes, throwing egs at the President is no Yolking matter!
Ha! I once ordered several bumper stickers that said, "YOUR MESSAGE HERE."
This guys have it in for those they perceive to be a goody-goody. I don't know how they ever put up with James Earl Carter, who could be the biggest goody-goody of all time.
Suppose W wins and wins by a substantial margin in November. Are those nutcases going to try to start a second civil war? Something to ponder, anyways.
What indefatigable optimists we Conservatives are. I love it.
The L's try to say 3 more months and we read Go, W.
How can we lose! :)
Hmmm...
Well, in Los Angeles, it seems that you get a "road rage" story at least once a week. The only way that I figured out that my W'04 sticker was prompting some of this was the guy who pulled up next to me last week and told me that "Bush S*cks", and that I'm a Nazi so and so. I gave him The Look, and he split.
Ill mannered wimps, the lot of them.
Oh, man! That story is an instant classic!
Bravo!
You mean that look like you're going to split his head open and carve it out like a melon?
You are driving an Expedition and she "nudged" you into the breakdown lane?
If you had a car full of kids, I see you giving ground.
OTOH, if someone tried to do that to me and I was alone, I would be sure to write down the license- I drive a 1 ton Chevy truck with BIG mirrors- and then we would have a tussle about who is going to push around who. My truck weighs about 6700# and has a good COG. I have liked driving it because I figure I have the "Law of Gross Tonnage" on my side.
Sure hope you get a lic # if this ever happens to you again. AND FILE CHARGES---In Calif, it would be assault with a deadly weapon- The car being the deadly weapon.
The poor man grew up without Fox News and talk radio.
The Liberal bias was all he ever got.
Not likely to come to his senses now!
Something about spandex shorts, tanks, and bicycles makes people feel extremely vulnerable. :)
PS: Can you put a name to this "witch"? Do you have a link to this story? Was it reported in any newspapers?
Put on the stickerm, man, live! :)
My dad was a general practitioner in Auburn Heights Michigan in the sixties.
He had little tolerance for stupidity but loved a good joke.
Around the time of the Detroit riots, while driving along our little dirt road, he impulsively put the machete he carried under the seat in his teeth, smiled, and waved as he passed a carload of Oakland University students.
They smiled back, very uneasily and took off in the opposite direction.
Story sounds incredible, but no one who knew my dad would doubt it.
Agree with you. Anyone tryin' that crap with me is gonna get a whuppin. I'm a nice reasonable guy, finger salutes don't bother me a bit; I just laugh at 'em. But they try that road rage crap and me and my big red Dodge truck (with retired military plates and NRA and Bush/Cheney stickers) is gonna rock their world! And, if they so much as scratch the paint, there'll be an ass-kickin at no extra charge!
Jimmy Carter is one of them, a true lunatic lib. He just pretends to be a goody goody like the Clintoon pretending to be a Christian, going to church and then spewing hatred of GW in the pulpit.
They will try to replicate Floriduh in many key states if the election is close enough. Kennedy has said that he will lead a fight to impeach GW if he wins.
They will fight us via lawyers, judges, trial lawyers and legislators.
The civil war will come if our side gets tired of being pushed. If they do what some of us are afraid of, we may have a civil war.
In '94, when the Libs were sure they were going to gain in both the House and the Senate some were already saying they were going to do various things such as take away the guns, tax the rich and generally enact a welfare state, they were gloating over conservatives as if they were already in charge. When their seeming victory turned into a rout they began the present campaign of hate. It's been ten years of this.
