More to come
(Excerpt) Read more at foxnews.com ...
Did you report this based on what was on the TV screen, because there wasn't anything about this on the Fox News website or on the official Bush reelection website.
What next?
An end to the "Angus Burgers" ad?
I'm already in defibrilation. CLEAR...........THUMP
W should be calling for the repeal of the unconstitutional monstrosity called McCain-Feingold. The First Amendment is not the sole property of the MSM or the political parties.
night = knight, btw...
If he asks the swiftvets to stop, and they stop, that is evidence of coordination and a felony.
He can ask them to stop and they should ignore him and go right on. Its not about electing Bush, its about letting people know who and what Kerry is. Its payback for all the guys slandered by him.
Had we paid attention to what we knew about Clinton, we would have been spared 8 years of Chinese payoffs and the unopposed rise of Bin Ladin. We know much more about Kerry's inability to tell the truth, but its a point that needs to be driven home again and again until people get it.
CNN's Jill Dougherty, however, is NOT saying this at all. They are asking her about it. She repeated that Bush is not saying this; she was at the briefing.
Bush is, as expected repeated his mantra about ending all 527 ads. Do you suppose he knows that the Dems' 527 are whopping GOP butt?
Amazing, New York Times has, in just a few short minutes, removed the NEWS ALERT that was at the top of the page. OOPS! Someone goofed!
Like I said, "if true and in context."
Anyways, I don't like Bush or any other politician calling for an end to free speech, which is what he is doing.
Exactly. I think this way the message will get out and Kerry's claim that Bush is coordinating the whole thing will ring hollow.
Thank you!! And so are some of the responses from panic striken folks who don't bother to check out the facts.
So he couldn't ask them to stop even if he wanted to.
That's right the mediots are jumping on nuance, President Bush called for a end to all 527 ads including the Swiftboat ads.
I just saw it on Fox he didn't alter his position, all he did was this time with in his call for the 527 ads to stop he simply mentioned the Swiftboat ad.
Yours is the most astute post on this thread.
This is a chess move, period.
1:48pm EST and the "Breaking News Headline" just disappeared, as I refreshed the page... WTF?
It just morphed into this article:

Hopefully, this is the direction in which he is moving. Maybe he's realizing CFR was a mistake.
I can hope...
Rush asking O'Neill about this very thing right now.
Bush is on CNN (which is where my clicker stopped clicking) speaking now, via tape delay. It's probably on other channels as well.
Bush Denounces Ads by Outside Groups
CRAWFORD, Texas (AP) - President Bush denounced TV ads by outside groups attacking both John Kerry and himself on Monday and called for a halt to all such political efforts. "I think they're bad for the system," he said.
Bush made his comments in response to a question about an ad sponsored by Swift Boat Veterans for Truth that said Democrat Kerry didn't deserve his Purple Hearts, lied to get his Bronze Star and Silver Star and unfairly branded all veterans with his 1971 congressional testimony about atrocities in Vietnam.
You are right. He has NOT specifically targeted the Swift Boat Vets. Anytime he or anyone in his campaign is harangued about this, they say the same thing, "The President would like to see and end to ALL of the ads by 527's".
Many of his campaign spokespeople have been pointing out that the vast majority of the 527 ads have viciously attacked the President, and Kerry has not only NOT repudiated them, he's repeated some of the allegations, including the AWOL accusation.
John O'Neill and Rush are discussing this story right now. It's just another attempt to try to make the Swift Boat Vets look bad, but the truth of the matter hasn't changed.
