The title refers to a daily report given to the president of the United States detailing the most serious terrorist threats against the country. To tackle those threats, the government has formed a top-notch task force to infiltrate the terror cells and cut off the danger.

Tropical Storm Bonnie and Hurricane Charley

A brief weather post, I feel the 'threat' warrants more attention:

Major East Coast Flooding is likely during the next 7 days

IF both of these storms manage to take similar paths up the eastern seaboard there will be widespread flooding up and down the coast. Areas from the Northern Middle Atlantic into Southern New England have already been soaked this summer, few places need more rain. Storms today dropped over 3" of rain in NYC causing flooding at Kennedy Airport.

The track of Bonnie is almost a given at this point, the map above represents rainfall almost entirely from Bonnie and is probably slightly underdone. Bonnie will likely put down a swath of 5-10" (localized 12"+) of rain as it quickly races northeast after landfall tomorrow (Thursday). Typically, a storm system moving so fast does not drop prolific rainfall totals, but Bonnie will have the aide of a stalled frontal system on the East Coast. The two separate lifting mechanisms may combine to bring a 6 hour punch of 2"/hour rainfall rates to some locales.

Charley is still a big question mark. A Florida hit appears likeliest at this point, but some things today are focusing my attention towards the FL Panhandle/Coastal Alabama area. So far, Charley has stayed further south than any computer models suggested. This will allow the storm to have less interaction with land, and it is quite possible that it will be a very strong storm (verging on Category 3/Major) once it gets into the Gulf of Mexico. The bigger the storm gets, the less it will be pulled along by the jet stream to the north. If it can gain enough steam to become a major hurricane, all bets are off. By late tomorrow evening, questions in regards to a Florida hit will be answered. This East Coast Trough (frontal system - jet stream buckle) is VERY strong for august and is actually much more typical once we get into Autumn in the US. If Charley does not manage to create it's own weather, he will certainly go right up the east coast after the initial hit somewhere in the eastern GOM.

This following image is a historical map of where storms have gone that have been in Charley's neighborhood. If western Florida does get hit, this will be a very unusual August storm system.

A Hurricane Watch and a Tropical Storm Warning remain in effect for
the western Florida Panhandle from west of Destin westward to the
Alabama/Florida border.

a Hurricane Warning remains in effect for Jamaica and the Cayman
Islands.

A Hurricane Watch remains in effect for the following provinces of
western Cuba...Pinar del Rio...la Habana...Ciudad de la Habana...
Matanzas...and the Isle of Youth. This watch will probably be
changed to a Hurricane Warning early Thursday.

At 11 PM EDT...0300z...the Hurricane Watch has been extended
northward along the west coast of Florida to Anna Maria Island.
A Hurricane Watch is now in effect for the Florida Keys from Dry
Tortugas to Ocean Reef including Florida Bay...and from Flamingo
northward to Anna Maria Island. A Hurricane Watch means that
hurricane conditions are possible within the watch area...generally
within 36 hours. A Hurricane Warning will likely be issued for a
portion of the Florida Keys and the southwest coast of Florida
early Thursday.

Can you explain how it is you believe that "God is in control" of human events and individual choices at present?

Because he IS God. I know that sounds simplistic and much of it rests in the simple faith of a Believer. But look at it this way: God exists outside of time and space as we know them. He exists in eternity and can see the past, the future, and the present all at the same time. So when he created the world he knew my name. He knew I would accept Christ as my savior and he knew I would continue to sin. He even knew specifically what sins I would commit, but it's okay, because all sins: Past, present and future are forgiven by the sacrifice of Christ on the cross. In the past year or so, I have drawn so close to HIM that I try daily to actively do his will in my life. He has returned to me a sense of peace that I can't really describe.

Think of all the fortune tellers you've ever heard of. The Nostradamus, Edgar Cayces and the like. They all have to some extent a fair to decent track record. But the prophesy of God, is 100% to date. If I could recommend a good book, HIGHLY readable; I would recommend you buy Planet Earth: The Final Chapter by Hal Lindsey. It gives you a timeline of prophesy and explains it very clearly. I was printed in something like 1998 and theorized that just MAYBE Y2K might bring about the Final "End Time" event that many folks refer to as The Rapture. But as we all know Y2K was a whole lotta nothing. But the threat of terrorism (OK THERE'S the reference to keep this ON TOPIC!) and all the geopolitical issues it brings could very well trigger a cascade effect of prophetic events. One of these would be the re-building of the Temple in Israel. To do this the most Holy Mosque in Islam, known as The Dome of the Rock must either be destroyed or somehow relocated. Already both Islamic extremists and Jewish radicals have warned that this very event may be on the verge of occuring. The Islamists are fully capable of blowing up thier own Mosque, while full, and pinning the act on Israel so as to force all of Islam to unite in Jihad against Israel and the USA.

Also remember that nowhere in the Bible is the United States of America mentioned. I believe for the End Times to progress, we as a nation must be knocked off the seat of world power and authority. Knocked to our knees. Reduced to a third rate power, perhaps at the "mercy" of UN "Peace Keepers." I'm not saying that if this happens the people of this country would just roll over and grovel (well except for the liberals) at the feet of the UN. In fact, I think they have no idea of the difficulties involved in our "absorption." "Resistance is Futile?" NOT!

Greece? I'm not sure whether "amphitheaters" was mistranslated "amplifiers" or misunderstood as such, but I think we should all be praying about the Olympic Games. It'd be just like Al Qaida to attack any & all participants because the games can be traced to an ancient festival for Zeus.
