The title refers to a daily report given to the president of the United States detailing the most serious terrorist threats against the country. To tackle those threats, the government has formed a top-notch task force to infiltrate the terror cells and cut off the danger.

"Every morning, the president receives a list of the top ten terrorist threats - this list is known as the threat matrix."

We here at FR are trying to be in conjunction with the daily reports around the world that involve threats. We try to provide a storehouse of information that takes hours of research.

With the nation on high alert for al-Qaida terrorists, the Department of Homeland Security is putting its border officers through "etiquette" classes to soften their image and make them less threatening to arriving foreign immigrants, WorldNetDaily has learned.

While a nuke would be devastating to say the least, I'm more worried about a bio attack. We wouldn't know it until people started getting sick and by that time it would be too late to do much about it other than lock the country down and don't let people travel. Scenes from the movie Outbreak come to mind.

While a nuclear detonation would wreak havoc (especially if it were multiple detonations), the damage would be mostly localized within a few miles of ground zero (except for fallout).

Add a baseball cap and clothing that would blend in with the locals and no one is likely to make a connection. Ante up a respectable amount of reward money and heavily publicize it (especially in Latino neighborhoods) and there's a better prospect of nailing him quickly. At the very least, it would make him slither like the snake he is to avoid detection (in which case he might be even more noticeable).

You have a valid point. A nuke is immediately tangible. It's something you can immediately respond to.

Bio is a cowardly thing to use, so possibly the most likely.

Thank you Miss Cindy!

This is the first time I have not been in tears or on the verge of same since it happened. Guess I "needed a new drug".

Seriously- we have GOT to keep track of world events as well as AQ.....Condi just said yesterday Iran's nukes will not stand. Now, what will Russia do about that? Let us dictate to Iran? I doubt it.

Well- have to get off. Computer counting down. Hope to be back tomorrow with lots more info including the stuff about folks moving on to "visit" Montana for the next month or two.

I was kidding about the slow news week. :-)

It could also be that this scientist is posturing to the "environmentalist" candidate for funding the monitoring of the vocano. I wonder if Kerry will pick up on this in the days to come...

I'm not worried about a bio-attack at all. It's too problematical to get an epidemic spun up (OutBreak, while a great movie was fiction) according to my notes from nbc school. We are also leaving the best climatic conditions for a good chemical attack. Once an epidemic is underway with a really good and deadly disease like smallpox, it'd be devastating. But the terrorists want an immediate impact and a high body count. I don't doubt that once the infrastructure and medical system has already been degraded, they might pull a bio-attack, but I seriously doubt it will appear as the FIRST main force attack. It could be too easily "spun" by the government as something else, and the terrs know it.

They need something unmistakable and horrifying...worse than 911. It has to be concentrated and instant, to make for the excellent photo op and sound bite. It has to be something the entire Islamic world (much illiteracy in some of those third world countries) can recognize as being the handiwork of OBL against the "Great Satan." In other words, it has to be extremely violent.

Two stories in today's news cycle mentioning money going OUT of U.S. . . the Syrian woman nabbed at an airport with $24K on her person and the North Carolina video taper who had just wired $100K home to Pakistan(?) . . . anyway, the outflow of funds suggests that the planning phase is over and the operation itself is upon us . . . let's keep our eyes open for any other stories that mention terrorist funds going out of the U.S. . . if really a trend, then it's trouble . . .

A preliminary bio attack would leave the goblins free to do other things. If they attack us violently first, there may not be an opportunity for them to do anything else. They couldn't look out of a window without taking a chance.

This does require that they have bio here, and in quantity to deploy enough to compensate for the low efficiency. We know that they're coordinated.

anyway, the outflow of funds suggests that the planning phase is over and the operation itself is upon us....

Nice catch! Although I think this operation started into the operational phase around June of this year. It would have been funded by OBL. I'm guessing sudden infusions of funding are for unforseen emergencies which could prevent the attack from proceeding. Likely these are logistical in nature. That's just from my own experience. If you look at the battle diaries of Patton and Bradley, they all cite problems with logistics as being the most endemic and irritating. It has always been thus.

Personally, I would not do anything to impede the Air Marshalls if they rose and identified themselves to take action.

If there is a firefight getting ready to happen, you can position yourself in the crossfire and cause the bad guys to get the advantage.

I would wait until the Air Marshalls took action, and then help them out if they need reinforcement, assistance, or whatever else they request.

Also helps you defend yourself from the inevitable lawsuit filed by terrorist sympathizers later on.

Please help me understand. Does this "outflow" means they don't need it here anymore, and that the money would be in jeopardy if it stayed here? Would it be in jeopardy of being confiscated? Devalued? Lost?

Does this mean that we're now doing little more than waiting?

Could it be that they're on the run and protecting resources?

Okay, what if there are NO air marshals? What about the idea of simply standing UP and stepping into the aisles? That would slow the progress to the cockpit and allow those passengers who wanted to take action on their own like Flt 93 to act and coordinate.

Mohammed Atta ( piss be upon him) wired about 250 thousand dollars back to Al Qaeda right before they attacked the WTC on 9-11.

The gist of it is they always send the remaining funds back to AQ so they can fund operations and continue the work of AQ in the future. They have good fiscal discipline.

There's a difference between wiring cash and smuggling. I'm not sure they're related.

Personally, if there were NO air marshalls, I would consider it open game on any terrorist in reach, and the fight would be on to keep them out of the cockpit using any means available.

The Aircrew of the plane are responsible for flight security, and I would assist them in maintaining the ability to land the plane and control it, because once that is lost, they can do anything they want.

Bottom Line:
1) do anything you can to help the aircrew keep control of the aircraft, and nothing to help the goblins.

2) Hurt the goblins as much as you can..
