Two soldiers stand guard at the checkpoint in the demilitarized in South Korea on Wednesday. North Korea reportedly is developing a pair of new ballistic-missile systems, including a model capable of being launched from both ships and submarines, which could potentially enable the communist state to target the continental United States. The Carthaginians defending the city were attacked by three Roman legions. The Carthaginians were proud and brave but they couldn't hold. They were massacred. Arab women stripped them of their tunics and their swords and lances. The soldiers lay naked in the sun. Two thousand years ago. I was here. |
A U.S. soldier, left, and his South Korean counterpart stand guard at the truce village of Panmunjom, South Korea, on Wednesday.
Who ever heard of Panmunjom?
A U.S. soldier walks away from two North Korean soldiers standing guard at Panmunjom, the truce village between North and South Korea, on Wednesday. It takes a brave Troop who would dare to walk away from such ones without having at least one finger on the trigger of his weapon.

A prisoner is frisked Sunday before going into another area to play soccer at Camp Redemption, the section of the Abu Ghraib prison compound housing security detainees, located on the outskirts of Baghdad. The 16th Military Police Brigade, which took over the camp on Jan. 31, says it has worked hard to upgrade conditions and rid the compound of the stigma of the prisoner abuse scandal. The fabulous Falls in Iraq are not quite as impressive as those at Niagra in New York , but still, a good wet protection suit is always advisable.

Oh, what a breathtaking scene!! With this photo, and your uplifting photos of our troops, I know I am blessed. The perfection of my life that our military fights for every single day is one that we must always honor. I am so glad to be in the arms of the security and peace our troops fight to uphold for us.
Thanks for the pix Radix. I love looking at our soldiers... :o) (And the captions are icing on the cake!)
