Trousergate versus Watergate

If Berger was stealing classified information from the National Archives, ostensibly to help his party, either Kerry's election bid or clinton's so-called 'legacy', how does this compare to Watergate?
Watergate was a burglery of DNC offices looking for information to help Nixon purportedly. So how does this rank?

Getting aside from the hypocrisy of clinton calling for then President Nixon's duty to resign merely because "he lied to the American people", of course.

If you're going to rate Watergate vs. "Trousersgate" on a scale of seriousness from 1 to 10, Watergate was a 4 and "Trousersgate" is a 9.
But the media and the public won't see it that way.

Well, wasn't he looking for information to help his people?
I'd say that it ranks right up there with watergate.

Because the Washington post flunkies put out the
rumor that the dnc was getting illegal donations
from cuber.
Watergate was wrongly robbed, this allowed the
democRAT media to bring down a popular president.
This led to an anti-american peanut farmer (who
never saw an American enemy he didn't like and
help) become president.

I think this is a double play by the Clintonistas. Get Berger to lose the documentation about what Clinton's lot knew about Al-Qaeda in America in 1999, and simultaneously smear the Kerry campaign - so Lady Mao can run in 2008.
To: dyed_in_the_wool
It's a vast conspiracy of the right-wing. (Sarcasm)

I completely agree, and have thought the sme thing all along. But of course the Clintons aren't too smart, because of course Berger's actions only reminds us all about the treachery of the Clinton administration. It rather reminds one of John Deutch, Filegate, Vince Foster's briefcase, ect...
And personally, I prefer the term "Clintonati" to "Clintonista". I think it better reflects their sinister conspiracies.

What Berger did was way worse. Much more detrimental to our security. He should rot in jail for a long time.
To: counterpunch
Agreed! Clintonati it is.
To: agere_contra
...so Lady Mao can run in 2008.That was my first thought too, but Berger is going pay more than he thought for this.
To: dyed_in_the_wool
Did Clinton actually say that?
To: dyed_in_the_wool
"Senator Clinton....you were involved in the Watergate investigation. What was your reaction when you learned 18 minutes of tape were "inadvertently" erased?" Did you regard it as funny as your husband regards Berger's actions?"
What I would not give to hear someone hit her with that question out of the blue.

So what do we call Berger? Deep Pants? No....Gold Toe.
To: agere_contra
oops..
I forgot one - it also reminds us of Al Gore's mysteriously deleted e-mails.

If you go back, you will find that what Hillary proposed to take Nixon down was illegal. I read it a long time ago. It may have been sanitized since and/or removed from the web entirely.
