Update from Wash Times: A U.S. military spokesman in Tikrit told United Press International that the report was untrue. "Nothing's been found. The report is not factual," said Master Sgt. Robert Cowens, a spokesman for the 1st Infantry Division... A spokesman with Prime Minister Iyad Allawi's office told UPI that the report concerning the alleged missiles and warheads emerged "while gathering information for Saddam Hussein's tribunal" during the interrogation of a captured former official of Saddam's regime.
Al Sabah, the Iraqi newspaper funded by the Coalition Provisional Authority, reports on its front page this morning that a former senior Ba'ath party activist has led coalition troops to three nuclear warheads hidden in a bunker.
Will post translation when we have it.

Here is story in full:
Headline: Khidhur (or Khidhir) al-Douri, back from the dead, reveals three nuclear missiles
Sources in the Interior ministry and the National Security Advisor's Office refused to comment on news reports that three missiles with nuclear warheads had been seized during the arrest of Khidhur al-Douri, the former Ba'ath party member.
Iraqi political sources, who requested anonimity, inisisted that Iraqi security authorities arrested al-Douri and seized the missiles.
The same sources told al-Sabah that al-Douri, who held meany Ba'ath party positions during the former regime, was falsely pronounced dead on its demise. Forged death certificates had been circulated.
He was arrested in an area between Oja and al-Dour, in Salahidine province.
The same sources said three missiles were found with nuclear heads attached in a tunnel six metres underground.
A cement layer six metres thick had been built over the tunnel to hide it from scientific ray detection that could detect the radiation emitted by the nuclear heads.
The tunnel leading to the three missiles is connected to a small hole that opens out on the main road between Ouja and Dour.
The sources said al-Douri was arrested after sending an email, specifying the location and a meeting place in Tikrit.
Authorities analysed the message. Iraqi forces then moved into the area, laying a trap that snared al-Douri and his son.
Al-Douri then revealed the location of the missiles. Various light weapons and money was also seized during the operation.

Has FNC mentioned it any?
So what are you saying, not true?
Um, yeah. The 3 warhead reports is not true and "stupid" according to Iraq's Interior Ministry as reported by Reuters. I tend to trust Reuters more than some obscure Iraqi newspaper.
If these are indeed found in some Iraqi cave, they were more likely bought than developed which makes it nothing good, but would mean their scientist did not take it that far.
Keep in mind most libraries in America have books on how to make an nuke, so this is not too hard to find out, obtaining materials are tough.
Do you speak Arabic, too?
I read it very poorly. But have some ability to navigate Arabic sites pretty easily. Thanks.
There's a famous curse in Arabic that I can't remember now: "may your testi*s be doorknockers on the gates of h*." Six feet under concrete. Get on the bus! Here's hoping! If so, thank you George and Crew!

A CACHE BURIED UNDER CEMENT.
The hijra year is different........
When a man is right, a man is right. Only the political angle here at home made finding WMD the least bit relevant to me. Otherwise, I don't give a crap if Iraq never had even a stinkbomb because for the reasons our bud gives below, going into Iraq was critical.
And more reasons...1) Iraq was the easiest domino to knock down and with the most sophisticated West-friendly population; 2) with Afghanistan on the east also moving toward democracy, Iran is bracketed and the Iranian people -- sick to death of this Islamofascist theocracy -- are that much more encouraged to take matters into their own hands. Iraq, now becoming pacified, gives us a base from which to roll tanks back into Saudi Arabia should the Saudi Royals be overthrown.
Yes, yes -- a lot more to invading Iraq than just WMD. We're draining the Islamo Death Cult Swamp.
*******
"I don't know about this story, may be just some place that nuclear bombs were researched etc. In any case, we need to stop focusing on the WMD as THE reason Iraq's regime of Saddam was removed. The WMD was just one reason. The main reason was that Iraq was a terrorist state and this was a war on terrorism. It was a terrorist state after 9/11 and before 9/11. It funded terrorists, harbored them, and among all the terror regimes of the world was the most pressing to remove based on its history of agression and use of terrorism. The liberation of Iraqi citizens by the US was good, but it was not a reason. It was an end result which occurs with the removal of any tyrannical regime.
People say Iraq was no threat. Ask them if they thought Afghanistan was a threat on 9/10 and they would probably say no. But the fact is the conditions in Afghanistan and Iraq were the same. Both were regimes which could harbor such terror groups as Al Queda and both supported and funded terrorism. Both had dictatorships, had militant Islamic ideology rampant in their countries, etc. Saddam may have had nothing to do with 9/11 but it misses the point. This US led war is not to bring all those responsible for 9/11 to justice, though it is part of it. It is a war on terrorism, all terrorism and the regimes which harbor, sponsor or fund it. Regimes like the PA, Saudi Arabian regime, Syria, Iran, Lebanon - all those which are terror regimes. Let's not forget the North Korean terrorist regime as well of course. All these regimes will have to be removed sooner or later, using all means possible, not just military. The USSR commie regime was brought down without the US going to war against Moscow literally, but by the US going against the idea of communism, painting it rightfully so as satanic, funding means that allowed the flow of freedom loving information in to the eastern part of europe and into asia.
In the long run, which the US is finding out in Iraq, it must shift the war on terrorism to a war on an idea - militant Islam which uses terrorism as a tool. The US may kill/capture terrorists, but the factories of death (such as schools, mosques, newspapers, radio, governments) will continue to pump more out. These must be drained. But as of now, the US and most of the world have political correctness holding them hostage. This will cost more lives and surely more 9/11s."
Oh yes, believe me if they are shielded under SIX METERS of concrete and who knows how much sand, not to mention any lead shielding around the packages, they can most certainly be hidden from any detection devices.
All the time the left is screaming Bush lied, no WMD, realize that Iraq is BIG and sand is DEEP, there could be a thousand frickin' super Wal-Marts full of WMD beneath all that sand and we could not detect them from the surface.
Iraqi paper reports discovery of nuclear warheads
Please let me know if you want ON or OFF my General Interest ping list!. . .don't be shy.
Thanks for the ping!
OK, but if it takes six meters of concrete to hid a nuke, what does that say about the difficulty of getting one into an American city?
I'm no math wizard, but to transport a bomb with that kind of shielding would take a cube 12 meters wide on each side. That's 3900 tons of concrete, give or take 50%.
What are the "bush lied" crowd gonna say about this? That there were only THREE nuclear missiles so it doesn't count?
We will know soon.
Could the papers that Berger destroyed have lead to these three missiles? Did the Bush camp leak the Berger story so that when they announce this, it completely destroys that 'Rats credibility for years to come?
While I'd like to think that it's impossible to 'sneak' a nuke into the country with all the post-9/11 vigilance, consider the tons of cocaine and pot that go by undetected all the time. And God only knows what else. The volume of US imports is simply too large to search it all.
I think if we had any intelligence or reports where nukes in Iraq were we would have secured them immediately... Bush isn't one to take a chance that they could be used on us.
Cocaine isn't usually radioactive. I think you could get a bomb into the country, but have trouble getting it into a population area.
It might be possible to shield a plutonium bomb, but very difficult to detonate successfully, without expert technical assistance.
A dirty bomb would have to be -- well -- dirty. Much harder to shield from detection.
