My letter to the editors at MSNBC:
From: "Smogger"
To: World@MSNBC.com
Subject: Your reporting of SocksGate (Sandy Berger)
Date: Tuesday, July 20, 2004 11:24 AM
The former National Security Advisor is videotaped taking classified documents relating to the War On Terror and his Administrations response to it, including TWO draft copies of his Administrations response to the Millennium bombing attempt. He also takes handwritten notes and stuffs them in his pants, jacket, AND SOCKS in a blatant violation of the law regarding classified materials, signs out that he has done nothing of the sort, and gives them to who knows who. He also happens to be John Kerry's top foreign policy advisor.
But your lead stories on the MSN home page are:
a.. Filipino hostage released
a.. Wildfire threatens north L.A.
a.. Gasoline prices rising again
And even on MSNBC's "News" page the story is relegated to a small blurb.
Are you telling me that if Condoleeza Rice was cuaght stuffing classified documents down her panties this story would be relagated to "page two" of your website?
Unbelievable.
Get on the ball MSNBC.

Good going! If I ever get cable tv, PMSNBC will probably be the last station I watch.

There is a poll too: "Do you thing Berger is telling the truth?"
It is 51% yes, 49% no.

Your right, he is a Kerry adviser and was going to get the nod for Secretary of State if Kerry won was he not?

The former National Security Advisor is videotaped taking classified documentsNo camera, no video, no pics.
Furthermore, no reporting said there was. You hurt your own credibility by making baseless assertions when chastising a news organization.

How exactly would this have been covered if Berger was instead Ollie North?
To this day new documentaries come out concerning the illegal break in at Watergate.

2nd story in two weeks the media has tried to spike.
First the unraveling of Joe Wilson's lies and the British Intelligence report vindicating Presidents Bush's SOTU address.
Now Trouser-gate.

Wanna know why MSNBC is refusing to run with this story? Guess who's now the head honcho at that sinking ship known as MSNBC? None other than Rick Kaplan, formerly of ABC and CNN, and longtime friend of Bill...

Now PMSNBC has hired former San Francisco Mayor "Downtown" Willie Brown to do commentary at the DNC's convention next week.
That should be a real ratings-grabber.

they should say, Clinton National Security Advisor, current foreign policy advisor to Kerry...It doesn't jive in their alternate universe. We're left to connect the dots for the media, even if the media has to call us the Right-Wing Attack Machine.

IIRC, the video cameras were put in AFTER this happened...and because of it. I agree, staffers saw him, but I don't believe there is any video of it.
To: tsmith130
Sorry. I heard mention of it on the news, so I thought there was. Too bad there weren't cameras in there tho, to show him in action!!! :)
