My Letter to MSNBC
Me | 7/20/2004 | Me

Posted on 07/20/2004 11:59:38 AM PDT by Smogger

My letter to the editors at MSNBC:

From: "Smogger"
To: World@MSNBC.com
Subject: Your reporting of SocksGate (Sandy Berger)
Date: Tuesday, July 20, 2004 11:24 AM

The former National Security Advisor is videotaped taking classified documents relating to the War On Terror and his Administrations response to it, including TWO draft copies of his Administrations response to the Millennium bombing attempt. He also takes handwritten notes and stuffs them in his pants, jacket, AND SOCKS in a blatant violation of the law regarding classified materials, signs out that he has done nothing of the sort, and gives them to who knows who. He also happens to be John Kerry's top foreign policy advisor.

But your lead stories on the MSN home page are:

a.. Filipino hostage released
a.. Wildfire threatens north L.A.
a.. Gasoline prices rising again

And even on MSNBC's "News" page the story is relegated to a small blurb.

Are you telling me that if Condoleeza Rice was cuaght stuffing classified documents down her panties this story would be relagated to "page two" of your website?

Unbelievable.

Get on the ball MSNBC.

Their quick response:

Take a look at the MSN homepage now boys: www.msn.com

MSNBC News Fed chief expected to say all's well
Filipino hostage released
Clinton aide probed over memos

Keep the pressure on boys. I also called the LA Slimes and bitched about their lack of coverage. This thing has legs.

The former National Security Advisor is videotaped...

Good job! Do you have a link for the report that the smuggling was videotaped? I haven't read/heard that.

Clinton aide probed over memos

Better than nothing, but still pretty innocuous. I'd prefer:

"Kerry aide stole classified documents, serious setback for War on Terrorism"

I dunno. I read it here. It's assumed he was taped taking the documents. How else would they know he stuffed them in his pants, socks, etc.

Video taped! oh that's precious!

That tape will be run to death - sheeple LOVE video.

Maybe they'll put it on COPS?

/sarcasm

Let's do hope the video gets lots of play - that more than anything will help get to the bottom of this.

I wanna know who told him to get the docs and I wanna know who he gave them to - and I wanna know why. The guy is in heap-O-sheeottt.

Where's the proof he was filmed stuffing documents into his fruit of the loons? He could very well have been playing with himself. After all this was a former member of the Sex, sex, sex, sex Administration. Depending of course upon what the definition of sex "is".

He's part of Kerry's campaign team.

What did Kerry know...and when did he know it?

This is the first I've heard anything about a videotape. I only know of an anonymous source claiming the sock-stuffing.

Great Job!

When these nets and cable companies don't respond, the next step is to notify the board which owns/controls the net/cable.

Send them a copy of the email and ask them why their news outlet is spiking this news. Then send a copy to the SEC and ask them if this is any way to run a company for the benefit of a political party not the stock holders. Make sure the board members get a copy.

I don't know about video taping but the piece Drudge is running says Berger (with lawyer) *ADMITS* to stuffing documents in his socks and so forth. Yes, if it had been a Republican, it would've been "Bush Advisor"... do we have any other examples of "Advisor" scandals linking them not to past gov't jobs but to their current campaign work? Showing blatant bias would be good.

Let's harrass the CBS Evening news by calling their unpublished newsroom number....this will make an impact, unlike just calling the main number to CBS News or CBS itself:

212-975-3691
