Kick Limbaugh off AFRTS
Pittsburgh Tribune-Review ^ | July 4, 2004 | Mike Farrell

Posted on 07/04/2004 9:53:23 AM PDT by buzzyboop

"Do the right thing." These were Secretary of State Colin Powell's words of advice to the Wake Forest University class of 2004 in his May commencement address. Then Powell issued an incontrovertible condemnation of the actions of U.S. soldiers' abuse of Iraqi prisoners: "Our nation is now going through a period of deep disappointment, a period of deep pain over some of our soldiers not doing the right thing at a place called Abu Ghraib. All Americans deplored what happened there."

One of Moore's minions. Why doesn't Dr. Honeycutt (or that other guy he played in 'Providence'), crawl back from whence he came?

BTW Happy 228th!!

So Mike Farrell supports gov't censorship? Of course he does, he's a socialist. But let's ask Mr. Farrell if the gov't should also pull its support of NPR. I'm sure that he would feel that NPR is a different matter.

It seems that Mr Farrell is suffering from delusions of relevance.

Has anyone bothered to ask the troops about this?

My guess is no, since these egomaniacs thinks that only THEIR opinions matter. I'm guessing his "30,000 other Americans" would rather them be forced to listen to Air America.

Sorry, but I think Rush went too far on this issue. He did trivialize Abu Ghraib. Yes, the Islamofascists have done far worse, but we should hold ourselves to a much higher standard. The goal should always be total and complete professionalism at all times by our armed forces--even though this might be difficult to achieve.

Farrell is with the "Free Mumia" crowd. That's all you need to know about Farrell.
He is one of the sickest Hollywood socialists who ever crawled into view.

BJ Honeycutt single-handedly ruined MASH. And he's a commie to boot!

I agree with you. However, the question is whether or not Rush should be kicked off AFRTS. Do you think he should?

Yeah, you're sorry alright.
It was the scumbag liberal newsrooms who "went too far on this issue". I'm disappointed that you (apparently - - I'll give you the benefit of the doubt) bought into all the hype.

Rush is a whack job. I would like to see him take his active imagination and correlate his on air views with the reality of himself being naked with the dog collar around his neck or the naked prisoner facing the snarling dogs. There is such a thing as humanity even in the treatment of the enemy.

By the way, (a slightly belated) Welcome to Free Republic!

I hope that you will continue to enjoy and contribute to our discussions here about reclaiming our nation from the athiests, welfare bums, condom throwers, Hollywood drunks, abortion enthusiasts, gold-chained union thugs, screeching feminists, government-addicted minority "victims", socialist college professors, pornographers, and all the rest of the losers, sickos, parasites, and malcontents who make up the Democrat base.

Have fun!

It wasn't worse than college pranks. Its not in the same category as what Al Qaeda has done to innocents. And yet to hear the partisan media tell it, Abu Ghraib is the worst crime of the 21st Century. All Rush was saying look at this in proportion. There are abuses and there are abuses. No one was tortured and murdered by the U.S military. And those responsible for wrong-doing are being disciplined. For trying to make Americans see the big picture, Mike Farrell wants Rush booted off the armed forces network - even though its barely an hour. The Left can't stand seeing soldiers hear a different perspective. According to the Left, America is up to no good. America is worse than Al Qaeda and heaven forbid if our servicemen and women in uniform hear different.

Rush wasn't trying to say that the abuse wasn't a bad thing. Just that it was way hyped up and I agree with him on that.

Socialist like Mike Farrell could care less about what the troops want. Believe me, the troops want all the Limbaugh they can get. The reason its on now is that they begged for it. Even if it is taken off AFRTS they will still get it over the Internet or tapes from home.

I accidentally heard some Prairie Home Companion this morning and believe me what the said about the President is far worse than anything Rush has ever said about anyone. NPR must go. Can we get a petition together to have it removed from AFRTS?

Exactly, Both NPR and AFRTS are government funded radio and the liberals believe that only NPR should be allowed to broadcast a point of view while not wanting government money to go to Rush Limbaugh.

I am confidant that all conservatives unlike liberals will be consistent on the issue of Government funded radio.

I did not say Rush should be kicked off AFRTS and I most emphatically believe he should he should not.
