A rename contest: A new name for L.A.: City of the wetbacks, perverts, hollyweirds, flakes, nuts, and movielibs. Sounds like a great basis for a new city seal design !

Just about every town and many of the counties in CA are named for saints. Texas has quite a few Spanish geographical names with religious references too. I guess well have to abolish tubing down the Guadalupe River.

On seperation of Church and State
It is impossible to build sound Constitutional doctrine
on a mistaken understanding of Constitutional history...
The establishment clause had been expressely freighted with
Jeffersons misleading metaphor for nearly forty years...
There is simply no historical foundation for the proposition
that the framers intended to build a wall of seperation [between church and state]...
The recent court decisions are in no way based on either
the language or the intent of the framers.

St. Louis, MO? St. Paul, MN? Las Cruces, NM? The list could go on forever.
Isn't it the first sign of a dictatorship/totalitarian trend when all historical references to the past are systematically eliminated? History will repeat itself if this obliteration is allowed to continue. Why, then, will God bless America when we have stood by silently as He was told He was no longer welcome here.

don't know what's going to kick off the second Civil War in this country, but I know what the political affiliations of the two sides are going to be. But our side will be better armed.

I never thought the day would come when another civil war would happen in America, but I honestly don't see any way we can avoid it. The God-haters in America are determined to run all thought of God out of this country. These people are without a doubt depraved monsters.

And except in those cases where the law is clear, the ACLU frequently decides its resources are better spent elsewhere. Sure, such as in defense of the Second Amendment, right? Uh, guys? Where'd everybody go?

They've repeated the lie for so long that it has become accepted as fact.

There is a precedent for this. "Saint Petersburg" became "Leningrad" after a certain revolution many years ago, and many other religiously derived names were changed as well. Of course, it is Saint Petersburg again now, and the freedom-to-stamp-out-religion gang might take heed from this fact.

This is disgusting. Why don't they just jump ahead to the world of Harrison Bergeron and get it over with?

And how about Corpus Cristi, TX?
When we were in Quebed every little town was named for a saint. We even found a St. Adrian, my brother's name, very unusual. And they had all those little toy chapel things by the side of the road, my mother explained what they were, but I've forgotten.
Who knows if Canada is even still like this? They've gone so wacky in other ways.
Maybe we should just deport all our atheistic litigants to Saudi Arabia and let them torment the Islamofacists for a while. You must admit, it would be both cruel and unusual for all concerned.

It's a no-brainer. Just rename the city Los 'Angles' and most wouldn't know the difference.
Now, those Sangre de Cristo mountains in New Mexico--that's going to take more work. After all, Sangre de Cristo means 'blood of Christ.'
[If the ACLU gets a go-ahead on Los Angeles, EVERY name in the US they dislike will have to change. Talk about PC-run-amok---and the taxpayers will have to pay for all the new signs.]

Well if Los Angeles were required to change it's name, so would San Diego and San Francisco. I would argue that San Francisco (along with San Bernardino, Santa Ana, San Diego, San Gabriel, ...) was named after a real person. The Government would have to declare these persons holy before forcing a change of place names. That in itself would be a separations violation.
To: Paleo Conservative
We in San Diego will remain Saint James, take that to the bank.
