Was seeking to buy a CD of Ronan Tynan singing 'Ave Maria', since his wonderful performance at the funeral today keeps running through my head, when I stumbled across a brief bio of him.
Quite a story, and it was also noted today that he has a parent with Alzheimers, and as a result became friends with Nancy Reagan as they shared their experiences and insights.

Dr. Tynan sang and spoke at the Texas Medical Association annual conference last month. He has a worse case of occupation attention hyperactivity than I do, but he's done quite a bit more with his disorder than I have. He is an incredible singer and inspiring speaker and person.

I'm going to be putting online sometime in the next day or so, the audio of both songs that Tynan performed at today's service in either a wav. or mp3 format.
I'll give you a heads up when they are available for download.

No one should go through life without ever hearing Tynan's rendition of The Town I Loved So Well.

At the very least, Ave Maria is on Tynan's Christmas album:

I remember him from the Sept. 11th funerals and memorials... he is wonderful. There is a
link down in the middle of this page to him singing "God Bless America" on September 25th, for Baseball in the Bronx.

The two highlights for me of the Ronald Reagan funeral services were Lady Thatcher's speech AND Ronan Tynan's INCREDIBLE rendition of Amazing Grace. BTW, if you want to hear it again, it will be playing within about an hour on CSPAN where they are rebroadcasting the funeral services. Right now President Bush is delivering his eulogy so figure it about an hour (or less) for Ronan Tynan.

Please tell me at what point in the funeral Ronan Tynan sang Ave Maria. I saw him sing Amazing Grace, but not Ave Maria.
Also, I am surprised to hear that Ave Maria would have been sung since I thought it was a Catholic song only, and President Reagan was Presbyterian.
