We are going to hold a candlelight vigil on Sunday night at Lafayette Park in Washington DC at 6 PM.
Please bring candles and any kind of tributes you would like to share.
We are building a website at www.reaganvigil.com. It would be wonderful to have candlelight vigils taking place across the globe. So if you are receiving this anywhere outside the beltway, think about possibly holding a vigil at your state Capital, or even in your hometown at the main town square.
Reaganvigil.com should be up and running shortly which will serve as a good organizing place, but in the meantime, get your email lists fired up -- once reaganvigil.com is up and running, organize a candlelight vigil in your town!
May God's blessings be with President Reagan and his family.

Can't make it tonight but am thinking of coming down for the lying in state/services on Thursday/Friday. I know I can't hope to get into the National Cathedral but would like to know if you all have any plans for the services.
BUMP
Thanx for a great photo! It has been added to the memorial.
See you there!

My front porch will be candlelit this evening in tribute to Pres. Reagan, a great American hero.
It is a great idea and I am going to try and attempt it on mine. But my front porch is always so windy. I will keep my fingers crossed.
Me too. My weekend was filled with finishing promises to my kids but I was amazed to hear what they had to say about the Gipper. I've talked about him but I didn't know they were listening.
My 9 yo said there was a poster in her school that reminded her of him and Bush. It says " Doing what is right is not always popular and doing what is popular is not always right." My 12 yo said "exactly". Damn! I love being a mom.
I heard the National Cathedral ceremony is on Friday and I would be more than appreciative to stand outside. Our we gonna get together to pay our respects? I'm gonna go but I'd rather do it with Freepers.
I was stationed on board the USS Dwight D Eisenhower from 1983 until 1987. In June of 1984 we were asked to be a part of the D-Day Anniversary remembrances. Since I speak French (en peu) I was part of the shore party from the ship. I was at Pont du Hoc with President Reagan and Margaret Thatcher and was able to meet both of them.
I told President Reagan that my uncle (my father's brother) was killed during the invasion and was buried at the allied cemetary there. He was truly a gracious man. He consented and I had a picture taken with both President Reagan and Mrs. Thatcher and gave it to my father upon my return. My father passed away in 1991 and I have since been unable to locate the picture.
That's awesome!! I will always regret never having had the honor of meeting Reagan, a man who has influenced my life immeasurably.
