Two propane-delivery trucks were stolen from a San Antonio gas company over the long holiday weekend, city police said Tuesday.
But Police Chief Albert Ortiz said his department does not suspect that terrorism was behind the fuel thefts.
One of the tankers carried about 3,000 gallons of propane, while the other held 2,600 gallons, police said.
Also under investigation is the weekend theft of 15 gas canisters from an ambulance supply company.
"We think it is just a coincidence at this point," Ortiz said, who appeared at a Tuesday news conference with the head of the local FBI office.
He said five of the stolen canisters were empty, and that the others contained nitrous oxide, carbon dioxide and oxygen.

I hope it wasn't someone thinking it was "gas" gas :')

Does he suppose these tankers were stolen by a consortium of camper owners who were fed up with the rise in LPG prices?

Kinda hard to hide them suckers while your fillin your 500 gallon tank Once you get it to Mexico, you don't particularly need to hide it, although "the bite" might be kinda stiff.

Thanks for the ping Cal. :)
Also missing are cylinders of oxygen and nitrous oxide. That is going to make one heck of a boom, if that's the intention!
To: Calpernia
Thanks Cal. This is not the time to get news like this. It is very suspicious.

One gas truck? Joyriders. Two gas trucks? A red flag goes up for me.

This is where I would normally throw my Boomhower impression in, but I don't think it translates well in the written word.

Did they get any propane assories?
And remember that Butane is a bastard gas.
To: TexanAmerican
I was wlistening a NASCAR thing the other day, and one of the drivers, I think that his last name was Myers, spoke exactly like Boomhower!

The latest, per local San Antonio TV story
HEREOne hopes, like the stolen fuel tank truck of some time ago, these are found empty and abandoned somewhere in Mexico (BIG market for propane in Mexico). At the risk of oversimplifiying the obvious, the terrorism aspect of these things is not trivial!

Just heard on local San Antonio news broadcast (WOAI) that the two trucks have been recovered somewhere east of Laredo.
