"And [Gov. Howard Dean (D-VT)] also attacked Mr. Kerry's candidacy, saying he thought the senator would be a weak contender in the general election. 'He's going to have a hard time if he's the nominee,' Dr. Dean said. 'I think electability's a real issue for him. He appears to change his mind so often.' Dr. Dean went on to assert that Mr. Kerry's 'credibility is under enormous attack, repeatedly,' citing his votes in favor of the use of force in Iraq and of President Bush's education plan. 'He has this pattern,' Dr. Dean said, 'you saw it with No Child Left Behind, you saw it with the war, you see it with special interests, which I think is terribly damaging. It appears that his word is no good.'" (Adam Nagourney, "For Kerry And Edwards, Sharp Exchanges Reflect A Crucial Day Of Voting," The New York Times, 2/3/04)
Is this a joke? The report looks *VERY AMATEURISH* I doubt the credibility.
Well, they do cite the New York Times, so what you're saying could be true and the quote could still be true.... :-)
They cited a NYT article, I'm sure you could find it if you googled it.
If I recall correctly .. Dr. Dean had A LOT of negative things to say about John Kerry
Here's a copy of the original NY Times article

Dean and other demo luminaries are sensing and previewing their thought... that Kerry will NOT be the democratic nominee.
I don't think he will either.
Hillary is running folks.
Kerry will be replaced at the last minute after we have expended so much of our energy and resources on defeating him PRIOR to his becoming the candidate.
JUST like hillary bumped off that contender in New York at the last possible moment... Kerry will be dropped at the last moment and HILLARY WILL SAVE THE DAY...
And I think she will win too.
Bush went too soft on the muzzies in the perception of the hawk/conservatives... Hillary is running to out "centrist" him...
I hope she loses, but this is their brilliant strategy.
Dean wants veep with hillary... her the centrist, and he the gravitas/left winger... to make her look reasonable to the center left.
I think they just might win too.
Hey, GREAT post.
Thanks for the ping Mo1.
Yep, Dean's given our side some GEMS,
if we're smart enough to use 'em.
Might explain why Bush seems to have lightened up on his campaign against Kerry, trying to save his money and Ammo for a contest with Hillary.
Don't bet on it??????? Hillary will be smashed....while
still in the gate.....Country is not as dumb as lots of you
seem to think.....Clintons lose ..every where they go...they
will not be in the campaigns as the vitriol that is out
there comes to the forefront with these two. How
the hell did California and New York end up with four
clueless, egomaniacial,nitwits for Senators???? No
wonder they are always voting Democrats...voters also
don't have a clue....Jake
I agree. I dont think shell run until 2008. she needs to remake herself again first.
the other reason is I dont think JF'nkerry will quit, its his dream to be the next JFK and it appears his ego is even bigger than hitlarys (if thats possible)
Well in New York... the junior Senator ousted the front runner at pretty much the last available minute... after having just moved into the region in time to qualify as a potential candidate for office.
she is running.
Won't happen.
will too.
We shall see, won't we?
Close. Kerry is the joke. This quote is from February of this year, a month before the media lovefest with Dr. Dean was finished and the Democrats dumped Dean on the side of the political road for Kerry.
Just make the s'mores and stop telling the scary stories around the bonfire.:-)
Hillary will smash Bush in the liberal enclaves on both edges of the country. Bush will pick up the remaining states in between. Overall, Hillary is a longshot. Remember, popular vote doesn't win an election, it's the electoral vote that really matters.
It's pure psychobabble to suggest that Hillary will be too old in 2008 or 2012 as she says. She's not running this year, she has no interest in it. That's my prediction. I'd wait to see how things turn out for the next Presidential election cycle in 2008. She wants to complete her remaining two years as a Senator, and who knows, she may be re-elected. Winning New York is one thing, winning "fly over space" is yet another. Everyone is well acclimated with her by now, and she is not well liked overall in "fly over country".
No matter how unenthused the Dems really are about Kerry's nomination, many would go ballistic if he just up and left/was pushed out.Anointing Hillary, would make even the most fringe Conservative an instant broken glass GOP voter and Hillary and the DNC knows it!
