I want to throw out a question to fellow FReepers out there: Now that Massachusetts courts have forced homosexual/perverted "marriage" on that state--and the fact that the "full faith and credit" clause of the Constitution will force every other state to deal with it--what will your reaction be?
I'm assuming, of course, that consistant conservatives (please shut-up libertarians, this question is not for you, OK?) will fight it, hopefully with a constitutional ammendment. There is however, a lot of doubt that such an ammendment will ever pass, and even if it does, it will take several years. Surely other states (perhaps Oregon and California for example) will quickly follow Mass's example down the rabit hole. So lets say, dark-side (but actually realistic, in this case) scenario, that an ammendment fails, or that before it passes YOUR state demands that YOU recognize homosexual "couples" as married. What will you do?
I for one, simply will NOT recognize any court or legislature which presumes to change the divinely established institution of marriage. If I am a landlord, I will refuse to rent to them. If I worked in a courthouse, I would refuse to issue them a license--due to conscience. If I am in other places of authority, I simply will not recognize law such as this, which flies in the face of God ordained law and principle.
No doubt this will be called "bigotry" by the Left--and many so-called moderates too--and compared to Jim Crow attitudes of yesteryear. However, my conscience on sexual behavior is NOT, nor will it ever be biggoted or Jim Crow--I just hope people who believe as I do will stand up and be counted, even if it hurts. We will not be faithful Americans if we do not.
Kinda like slavery? You won't be getting one so it doesn't matter?
No. I won't be getting a slave, either. Are you saying you will?
Ah understand now. I just thought it very funny someone saying what do you think about this and then saying I don't want to here a certain argument.
This post is different it asks what do those who disagree intend to do about it.
Tony
Well, as it stands right now we are 90% there. There are no more "small government" Republicans out there. True conservatives have no voice anymore in Government. GWB's "compassionate conservatism" has proven to be a sham. He can not give away money fast enough. His globalist policies will be the financial ruin of this country.
I'd say, the beginning of the end happened immediately after the election of Bush #1.
All Bush supporters can say is "look how bad things will be if Kerry is elected"....which is sure not a vote of confidence for GWB. So, we have a choice of "bad" or "worse". In essence the Republicans have morphed into Neocons and moved away from core values to the soft "middleground".
We 're being driven to ruin, our only choice now is between "fast" and "faster".
I'm saying slavery is wrong whether or not you get one. Are you saying it isn't?
why is that so many people are fixed on this gay marriage thing? and how the bible is against it, the bible speaks of many sins just as strongly as it does against being gay but i hear hardly any thing said about these sins for instance in the very book of the bible that condems homosexuality the book of leviticus chapter 19 and the 28 verse speaks against tatoos and if you look around people have gone out of their minds tatooing every part of their body possible, much of the foods on the menu at any seafood eatery according to the bible are off limits do you see anyone trying to shut down these establishments? instead of pointing fingers we would all be better of reading from the bible matthew chapter 7 versus 1 thur 5

"Maybe I should move to MA, get hired in some kind of wedding industry related field,..."
When you move pick either Provincetown, Cambridge, or Nantucket which all have a higher than average 'gay' population. That way you will be able to maximize your protest. You will need to hide your feelings, probably, long enough to get hired though. Good luck.
My fantasy of moving to Massachusetts is merely a fantasy - I live in the Northwest and can't see going to the east coast, even for the pleasure of protesting.
Plus, there's plenty of weirdness here!
Back to the shadow from whence you came, troll!
If I had to marry some one of the same sex, I'd stay single.
There is only one response to this.
(2 Chr 7:14 KJV) If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.

(Jer 18:5 KJV) Then the word of the LORD came to me, saying,
(Jer 18:6 KJV) O house of Israel, cannot I do with you as this potter? saith the LORD. Behold, as the clay is in the potter's hand, so are ye in mine hand, O house of Israel.
(Jer 18:7 KJV) At what instant I shall speak concerning a nation, and concerning a kingdom, to pluck up, and to pull down, and to destroy it;
(Jer 18:8 KJV) If that nation, against whom I have pronounced, turn from their evil, I will repent of the evil that I thought to do unto them.
(Jer 18:9 KJV) And at what instant I shall speak concerning a nation, and concerning a kingdom, to build and to plant it;
(Jer 18:10 KJV) If it do evil in my sight, that it obey not my voice, then I will repent of the good, wherewith I said I would benefit them.
(Jer 18:11 KJV) Now therefore go to, speak to the men of Judah, and to the inhabitants of Jerusalem, saying, Thus saith the LORD; Behold, I frame evil against you, and devise a device against you: return ye now every one from his evil way, and make your ways and your doings good.
(Jer 18:12 KJV) And they said, There is no hope: but we will walk after our own devices, and we will every one do the imagination of his evil heart.
(Jer 18:13 KJV) Therefore thus saith the LORD; Ask ye now among the heathen, who hath heard such things: the virgin of Israel hath done a very horrible thing.
(Jer 18:14 KJV) Will a man leave the snow of Lebanon which cometh from the rock of the field? or shall the cold flowing waters that come from another place be forsaken?
(Jer 18:15 KJV) Because my people hath forgotten me, they have burned incense to vanity, and they have caused them to stumble in their ways from the ancient paths, to walk in paths, in a way not cast up;
(Jer 18:16 KJV) To make their land desolate, and a perpetual hissing; every one that passeth thereby shall be astonished, and wag his head.
(Jer 18:17 KJV) I will scatter them as with an east wind before the enemy; I will show them the back, and not the face, in the day of their calamity.
What would be the point.
