why is that so many people are fixed on this gay marriage thing? and how the bible is against it, the bible speaks of many sins just as strongly as it does against being gay but i hear hardly any thing said about these sins for instance in the very book of the bible that condems homosexuality the book of leviticus chapter 19 and the 28 verse speaks against tatoos and if you look around people have gone out of their minds tatooing every part of their body possible, much of the foods on the menu at any seafood eatery according to the bible are off limits do you see anyone trying to shut down these establishments? instead of pointing fingers we would all be better of reading from the bible matthew chapter 7 versus 1 thur 5

Welcome to FreeRepublic

The bible, if you will actually read it, speaks much more strongly against homosexuality than against tattoos or other Leviticus laws.

Also, if you will try to use capitalization, proper sentence structure and formatting, you may receive more replies to your questions. Just a simple matter of politeness to those you want to read your posting.

If you don't see much difference in getting a tatoo or doing homosexual acts, then there is probably no reason to respond. But I will anyway.

The verses in the Old Testament against homosexuality are not the only ones in the Bible. Verses can also be found in Romans Chapter One (the New Testament) which clearly speak against homosexuality. Why don't you read that chapter for yourself and see just how stern a warning God is giving against homosexual behavior.

Also in the Gospels Jesus specifically says, when talking about marriage, that a man would leave his parents and be joined to his wife (not another man).

Your response mentioned several regulations (food, etc.) that were in force under the Old Testament or Covenant. The Apostle Paul wrote several chapters dealing with these things once Jesus brought in the New Covenant (the New Testament).

As pointed out above, homosexuality is AGAIN stated in the New Testament to be wrong, sinful.

The good news is that Jesus will deliver a person who turns to Him for help. Anyone can be delivered from a homosexual lifestyle -- the Lord has the power to rescue him or her from it. That is why He came, to deliver us from our sins.

We all have faults, things we need to be delivered from. So in no way am I saying that I am perfect. However, I don't think God wants us to start saying that a certain sin (which He definitely says is sin) is now ok to do just because the world says it's an ok "lifestyle".

And neither would He want us to hide the knowledge we have (as Christians who read the Bible) that He considers homosexual behavior to be wrong. It is just part of His Word.
