For anyone who hasn't yet heard, the Arkansas Hog Wild FReepers are expecting a visit from Jim, Sheila and Chris. I know that they are visiting other chapters as well, but not having their itinerary, we are not sure exactly where Jim's adventures will take them. We thought it would be a good idea to post a thread for the benefit of, not only the Arkansas FReepers whom we have not yet contacted, but also for FReepers in surrounding states who might want to take advantage of this opportunity to meet Jim and his family.
The Robinson's plan to be in Little Rock on June 2nd and 3rd. The "official" meeting will be at 5:45 on June 3'rd at the Whole Hog Cafe in Little Rock. our more or less regular meeting spot, to pig out on the best barbecue in Arkansas. For anyone who can make a day of it, we will all meet for lunch followed by some sightseeing or something along those lines. We are open to suggestions. FreeTheSouth! has expressed interest in interviewing Jim on a radio program in Hot Springs.
We are all very much looking forward to Jim's visit. Please plan to attend and bring a friend or two. Let's all get together and show the Robinson's some real southern hospitality Arkansas style!
I'm going to have to make sure I am stocked up on batteries for my camera! I anticipate some GREAT pictures.
Jim Holt DOES plan to be at the Whole Hog on Thursday. See post #43. This will definitely be an exciting meeting.
The Mrs. will have to work, but I plan to be in LR for the day.
I have to notify the city that the electrical inspector will be out of pocket.
I just got word from JR that he well do a phone interview with KXOW AM 1420 here in hot Springs. Got to go and get it set up now.
Here is the current itinerary for Jim's visit:
Between 9:30 and 10:00 am, Jim will be doing a phone interview with KXOW AM 1420 in Hot Springs. Be sure and tune in if possible. At 11 am, we will meet for lunch in the banquet room at Ryan's, 8815 Baseline Rd in Little Rock.
After lunch, we will take some of our FReep signs and convene at the grounds of the Clinton LIEbrary for a pre-emptive FReep/photo op. Time allowing and if Jim and Sheila are up to it, we will do some sightseeing around downtown Little Rock. I know very little of the history of the area, so I will have to defer to longer time residents' help with this.
Between 4:30 and 5 pm, we will head over to the Whole Hog Cafe at 2516 Cantrell Rd. in Little Rock where we will meet either in the banquet room or the large section of the restaurant to the west of the main room. Either way, we're pretty easy to spot. Jim Holt will also be there and will speak to the group.
Following supper, we may go have a drink someplace, or coffee or dessert....depending on what folks want to do.
I hope all of you will make an effort to be there. I would ask that if you plan to be at Ryan's and/or the Whole Hog, you would please let me know so that I can alert the restaurants as to approxiamately how many to expect.
Anyone from out of town who would like to come but is concerned about driving round trip, why not plan on staying in the area overnight? The Robinson's will be staying at the Holiday Inn Presidential Center Hotel (*cough, splutter, choke*), so that might be an option to consider. Also, the Best Western in Hot Springs offers a special FReeper rate. If you want to check that out, ask for Don.
Come on FReepers! Let's show 'em that the Clintons aren't the only ones who can make Little Rock sit up and pay attention!

Hello Freepers! I am back from JRTC at Ft. Polk, and Kuwait and Camp Cooke in Baghdad. I have been away for only 6mos helping my unit (39th INF BDE) setting up in Iraq. Now that they are there, I am back. I may ship out again in AUG, but we will see.
As far as meeting with Jim Rob, I am good to go from Noon Thursday until 5pm.
Hope to see you all there. Its good to be back. I look forward to drinking alot of beer and freeping with you!

The biggest jackhammer I've ever seen was ripping up the walkway to the Capitol's front entrance yesterday, but the tunnel entrance is open.
I think we will probably try to go to the capitol building, depending on how Jim and Sheila are holding up. We are definitely going to the grounds of the Clinton LIEbrary. The Robinson's are staying at the Presidential Conference Center (Holiday Inn that bills itself as being the official headquarters for the Clinton LIEbrary) and are looking forward to wearing their anti-Clinton stuff around there. How's this for tacky? Their lounge is called the Camp David Bar and Grill....where we will probably pop in for a drink after supper....just for fun and pictures. I think it will be hilarious that some of the first pictures that will be made public of these places will be of Jim Robinson and a band of FReepers!
Here's the latest....not too many changes. The radio interview is uncertain at this point. Details and map links for lunch and supper are in post #45. After supper and the meeting at the Whole Hog, we will meet for drinks at the "Camp David Bar and Grill" at the Holiday Inn where the Robinson's are staying.
A reminder, Jim Holt will also be with us tomorrow evening, so that will be a special treat as well and TheBattman will be intoroducing the newest FReeper to the group (their new baby daughter, Anna).

I will miss you for lunch, but will be at whole hog around 4-430 to meet you guys.
Then I have to leave at 5:45. Sigh....after 830PM we can go drink at flying saucer in downtown little rock...just a hop skip and a jump away from Birr Kringtong's Lie-brary.
When there is no facility open to use the latrine, the Lie-brary is as good as place as any ;)
