It has come to this. In discussing Iraq, the Abu Ghraib abuses and the beheading of Nick Berg, Katie Couric summarized the situation in this way:
"It seems like it's become of question of who is the lesser of two evils."
That's right. Katie Couric wondered aloud who might be more evil - Al Qaeda, which, in addition to beheading Nick Berg, murdered 3,000 innocent people on 9/11, or the United States of America.
And please don't imagine for a second that Matthews came to the defense of the US. When Katie asked Matthews for his reaction to the statement from Sen. Zell Miller to the effect that the Abu Ghraib prisoners had underwear put on their heads whereas Berg was left with no head, Matthews completely, yes completely, ignored Berg's beheading.
His answer was entirely devoted to condemning the US for actions that made us look like 'perverts.'
Can Today, Katie Couric and Chris Matthews sink any lower? I suppose anything is possible, but they are going to have to work hard at it after this morning's despicable performance.
I got something like this......BOTH.
If the sheeple wouldn't listen to the nutty media mouths like couric, blather, jennings, etc., and BELIEVE the garbage they "report", they would know who the actual monsters really are, the American mainstream media.

As an Intel guy, I can't afford to be wrong. It would be great if I was wrong this time, but I don't believe I'm really that far off track.
I don't remember a time when The Left has tried so hard and loudly , and successfully, to make sure The Sheep don't think outside the box, or to keep so many of their mind-slaves on the plantation.
All I can do, is keep going to Drill, watch for my next Active Duty orders, and hope that FReepers can keep watch behind me, while I'm watching the walls.
I have noticed a rise in this kind of equivalency myself. Do Dems lie? BOTH parties do. Do Dems break campaign finance rules? They BOTH do. Do dems run nasty campaign ads? They BOTH do.
I think it is laziness. People don't pay attention, and don't want to have to take a position one way or another. That requires too much thought and judgement. So they insist that everyone is equally guilty.

You're right .. it does sound familiar, but I don't remember who it was .. If I was to take a guess, I'd say Teddy because he seems to be the mouth piece for the DNC
One explanation for Clinton's high approval numbers during Monica was that people just don't care to see the President, no matter who he is, brought low.
IF this is true, and I never thought that Clinton had high approval because very many people LIKED him, then as this continues we might see a sharp take off for Bush.
On the other hand, if people see this as mere election year politics, they may dismiss it as "acceptable" for now.

Kennedy said that something along the lines that nothing's changed at the Gharaib prison, just that our men have taken over from Saddam's.

She didn't really say that?! I am speechless. To make a moral comparison between the prisoners in Abu Ghraib and the butchering of Nick Berg is .... beyond words.

What really is surprising is the media liberals don't see those photo abuses as normal behavior. That'd be more within their nature....
