"Islam's LAST Chance"--(Make up your minds)

We're a little different....we Americans. Full of hope and life...wanting nothing more than to live a good, decent life...and pass on to our children the Freedom and chance to betterment that we ourselves have had.
We don't want to conquer the world...we don't want to even own the idiot thing. We watch dumb t.v. shows...and ,sometimes, even dumber movies. All with the expectation of trying to enjoy a couple of hours of leisure..and,really,doing nothing important.
And yet...we also aspire to goodness...and ,maybe, just a little greatness (always with the small 'g'). We TRY to do good the world over. We TRY to help our fellow man...to Free him...to show him that there IS a better way of life. We TRY to show our fellow dwellers on this rock that Freedom...the power to choose for oneself...is so priceless that it is worth fighting for.
Oh,for sure, we DO have our share of 'bad' people. Those who will commit acts of savagry or abuse against other Americans....or Iraqi's for that matter. We DO have people here who will commit all sorts of crime.....BUT...we also have the knowledge that when they are caught...MOST,if not all, will be punished.
But,most Americans, are just normal average people who go to work...pay their bills....raise their children.
Never forget....we are the 'Good Guys'.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
I have watched for the last year....the reporting of Americans being killed in Afghanistan and Iraq. (doing nothing more than trying to help fellow human beings). I have watched the burnt out vehicles along the roadside...I have seen the burnt and dismembered bodies of Americans being dragged thru the streets and hung from a bridge...all to the tune of dancing men and children chanting about how Allah is great.
I've watched for the last week...the unending circus about the abuses ,done by some, at a prison in Iraq. I have NOT liked what happened there...I have liked even less watching all the newspeople and politicians making asses of themselves in some sort of weird game of 'one-upmanship'. (after all...to BECOME a politician...you have to an ass anyway...and newspeople aren't much further up the ladder)
...and today, I have watched the moving pictures of a young American being beheaded.
I watched the Islamic Terrorists raise his head towards the camera...to try and instill fear in my heart. In the hearts of my friends. In the hearts of my children.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
I got news for them.
I don't scare that easy.
WE don't scare that easy.
I have written before....there is a cancer in the world today. Eating away at basic human decency. Eating away at Freedom...trying to return us to those glorious days of yesterday...where the Rulers of Islam could decide your life and death on a whim.
I have also said that UNLESS the so-called moderate Islam stands up and helps us fight those who do such savagry as I witnessed today...then they are no better than those who beheaded that young American.
Moderate Islam has a choice.
Life or death.
Choose life...and the rewards will be great. But it WILL take you getting invovled in actually fighting the Islamic Terrorists. It WILL take you standing up on your hindlegs and actually voicing your opposition to the Osama's of the world. It WILL take you discovering your testicles.
There is a cancer among us...and it is Islamic Terrorism.
...and if moderate Islam wants to just sit on the sideline then we will consider that you have chosen death.
...and we will help you get there.
---------------------------------------------------------------------
God Bless the United States of America....and God Bless the Soldiers who are protecting her.

I agree with everything you said.
It is strange sometimes...it IS like living Vietnam all over again. NOT the combat....but the politics.
Welcome Home my Brother.

"The networks won't play this(or 9-11 video) for two reasons. Mosques would disappear in ashes, and muslims would no longer be safe."
..and maybe a third reason.
There are a lot of people IN this Nation who, for some reason I have never understood, actually hate this Nation..and wish to see it's people harmed.
..and a lot of those people work in the News Media.

And, thank you, Howlin, for the ping. I really needed to read this.Agitation brings out the best at FR, doesn't it?
We could probably also use some group therapy after this week -- and it's just Wednesday.

I just think there needs to be a military target to take out instead of civilians in the middle of the city.

Well, I was a bit "lathered" last night. By "leave", I mean a whole lot sooner than many years from now. I'd like to see the marsh Arabs and the Kurds have some protection, but right now I couldn't give a damn about the rest of them. Here's another idea!
IF IT WAS GOOD ENOUGH FOR TEXAS, IT'S GOOD ENOUGH FOR IRAQ
The terrorists in Iraq have turned mosques into armed fortresses. Our troops cant attack these holy places. Yes, I know its our policy to not destroy anyones church. But sometimes we also make exceptions when the need arises. Whatever your opinion of the Mt. Carmel meltdown, you have to admit it was effective and thorough. And no one, except Tim McVeigh complained much or held the US Government accountable.
Give the residents, aka collateral damage 24 hours notice to get out of town to specified camps. Collect all weapons.
Take enough troops to surround every mosque that wont open up. Take em out of S. Korea, Kosovo, Haiti, and every other gimme state that the U.S. defends while they only complain. As for Kosovo, weve already messed that up with the UN, Wes Clark and Natos help to ever make amends for that travesty.
Get the snipers and shoot anyone trying to escape a hostile mosque.
Cut off the water and electricity. Turn on the flood lights and get out Nancy Sinatras boots music. Make it REALLY loud.
Wait em out. How long? 30 to 60 days? Then call Janet Reno to find out where to get the CS Gas. Get the tanks, flame throwers and every munition known to man.
David Koresh and his misguided flock considered their compound a sacred place. Theirs was a cult, after all, filled with brainwashing, exploitation, intimidation and danger. Whatever the threat to the rest of us, those 80 people never killed 3000 of our citizens and over 600 of our young people defending us all, much less put a hole in our economic structure that well be paying off for generations, if we survive this mess called Iraq.

Like your tag... but thought the price listed is a bit high for a drum of oil. =)
I'm not certain but that's right in the range of a Glock Model 19, gun safe and some ammo. Mine came to $729.36. And the dang thing doesn't even have a safety - rack a round and look out! ;-)
Actually I knew that when I bought it - you can drop it, drive a truck over it and it won't "go off" but if you pull the trigger it will. That's what I bought it for. ;-)

I really don't have time to cover every post on this thread but I'm in agreeance with you that "moderate" islam better get off the fence or face the same doom and destruction radical islam deserves.
Although I'm not from that state - the motto "Live Free or Die" has a certain unexplainable attraction to it. ;-)
And for anybody that thinks "agreeance" is not a word just FReepmail your address and I'll drop by to "discuss" the issue. ;-)

Great read. You are right on the money. There were really three options for President Bush after 9/11; 1) do nothing like Clinton, 2) bomb the heck out of every Arab/Muslim country (a la Germany and Japan) that threatens the US and 3) try to fundamentally change the region. Being a hopeful and optimistic American, President Bush chose the most challenging option 3). It will be interesting how this unfolds. Remember Option (2) is always available. It is up to the Arabs/Muslims how all this will turn out. Hopefully they will choose wisely. I wouldn't bet on it though.

We are to some level, but we are not having to fight this on 10 fronts at once.
The idea is to put out one fire then move on to the next one.
If we try to spread ourself too thin it wouldn't be wise.
