We're a little different....we Americans. Full of hope and life...wanting nothing more than to live a good,decent life...and pass on to our children the Freedom and chance to betterment that we ourselves have had.

We don't want to conquer the world...we don't want to even own the idiot thing. We watch dumb t.v. shows...and ,sometimes, even dumber movies. All with the expectation of trying to enjoy a couple of hours of leisure..and,really,doing nothing important.

And yet...we also aspire to goodness...and ,maybe, just a little greatness (always with the small 'g'). We TRY to do good the world over. We TRY to help our fellow man...to Free him...to show him that there IS a better way of life. We TRY to show our fellow dwellers on this rock that Freedom...the power to choose for oneself...is so priceless that it is worth fighting for.

Oh,for sure, we DO have our share of 'bad' people. Those who will commit acts of savagry or abuse against other Americans....or Iraqi's for that matter. We DO have people here who will commit all sorts of crime.....BUT...we also have the knowledge that when they are caught...MOST,if not all, will be punished.

But,most Americans, are just normal average people who go to work...pay their bills....raise their children.

Never forget....we are the 'Good Guys'.

I have watched for the last year....the reporting of Americans being killed in Afghanistan and Iraq. (doing nothing more than trying to help fellow human beings). I have watched the burnt out vehicles along the roadside...I have seen the burnt and dismembered bodies of Americans being dragged thru the streets and hung from a bridge...all to the tune of dancing men and children chanting about how Allah is great.

I've watched for the last week...the unending circus about the abuses ,done by some, at a prison in Iraq. I have NOT liked what happened there...I have liked even less watching all the newspeople and politicians making asses of themselves in some sort of weird game of 'one-upmanship'. (after all...to BECOME a politician...you have to an ass anyway...and newspeople aren't much further up the ladder)

...and today, I have watched the moving pictures of a young American being beheaded.

I watched the Islamic Terrorists raise his head towards the camera...to try and instill fear in my heart. In the hearts of my friends. In the hearts of my children.

I got news for them.

I don't scare that easy.

WE don't scare that easy.

I have written before....there is a cancer in the world today. Eating away at basic human decency. Eating away at Freedom...trying to return us to those glorious days of yesterday...where the Rulers of Islam could decide your life and death on a whim.

I have also said that UNLESS the so-called moderate Islam stands up and helps us fight those who do such savagry as I witnessed today...then they are no better than those who beheaded that young American.

Moderate Islam has a choice.

Life or death.

Choose life...and the rewards will be great. But it WILL take you getting invovled in actually fighting the Islamic Terrorists. It WILL take you standing up on your hindlegs and actually voicing your opposition to the Osama's of the world. It WILL take you discovering your testicles.

There is a cancer among us...and it is Islamic Terrorism.

...and if moderate Islam wants to just sit on the sideline then we will consider that you have chosen death.

...and we will help you get there.

He replied in the affirmative. So, Muhammad bin Maslama went to him (i.e. Ka'b) and said, "This person (i.e. the Prophet) has put us to task and asked us for charity." Ka'b replied, "By Allah, you will get tired of him." Muhammad said to him, "We have followed him, so we dislike to leave him till we see the end of his affair." Muhammad bin Maslama went on talking to him in this way till he got the chance to kill him.

Book 019, Number 4436:
It has been narrated on the authority of Jabir that the Messenger of Allah (may peace be upon him) said: Who will kill Ka'b b. Ashraf? He has maligned Allah, the Exalted, and His Messenger. Muhammad b. Maslama said: Messenger of Allah, do you wish that I should kill him? He said: Yes. He said: Permit me to talk (to him in the way I deem fit). He said: Talk (as you like). So, Muhammad b. Maslama came to Ka'b and talked to him, referred to the old friendship between them and said: This man (i. e. the Holy Prophet) has made up his mind to collect charity (from us) and this has put us to a great hardship. When be heard this, Ka'b said: By God, you will be put to more trouble by him. Muhammad b. Maslama said: No doubt, now we have become his followers and we do not like to forsake him until we see what turn his affairs will take. I want that you should give me a loan. He said: What will you mortgage? He said: What do you want? He said: Pledge me your women. He said: You are the most handsome of the Arabs; should we pledge our women to you? He said: Pledge me your children. He said: The son of one of us may abuse us saying that he was pledged for two wasqs of dates, but we can pledge you (cur) weapons. He said: All right. Then Muhammad b. Maslama promised that he would come to him with Harith, Abu 'Abs b. Jabr and Abbad b. Bishr. So they came and called upon him at night. He came down to them. Sufyan says that all the narrators except 'Amr have stated that his wife said: I hear a voice which sounds like the voice of murder. He said: It is only Muhammad b. Maslama and his foster-brother, Abu Na'ila. When a gentleman is called at night even it to be pierced with a spear, he should respond to the call. Muhammad said to his companions: As he comes down, I will extend my hands towards his head and when I hold him fast, you should do your job. So when he came down and he was holding his cloak under his arm, they said to him: We sense from you a very fine smell. He said: Yes, I have with me a mistress who is the most scented of the women of Arabia. He said: Allow me to smell (the scent on your head). He said: Yes, you may smell. So he caught it and smelt. Then he said: Allow me to do so (once again). He then held his head fast and said to his companions: Do your job. And they killed him.

But I am struck by how devastated, moved, and outraged the people who have seen it are. It must be horrific.

I won't watch the video either, it nearly makes me sick just listening to them describe the beheading. But I was listening to a local morning radio show here in Orlando and two of the people on the show watched the video while the host was talking about it.

The two who watched the video came back on and said basically, "Eff 'em! It's time to nuke the sons a b!tch'$!"

And this from a moderately liberal morning radio show.

I would add, that the "innocents" in Vietnam - were frequently caught in the crossfire - and often were intentionally targeted by the communists to "send a message"..

"Moderate Muslims" or whatever peace loving Muslims wish to call themselves --- must accept responsibility for the animosity many Americans feel against ALL Muslims...

We can't tell the murdering lunatics from the pious..
If the "Moderates" can --- they had better take action, or at least point them out so others can take action....

You expressed what we all feel.

Some clarifications are in order:

Robert, there is nothing in the Quran about clitorectomies.
These people are savage enough without inventing atrocities.

D., when I lived among the Muslims in Saudia and other places in the MidEast, beheading was the accepted way to end someone's life.
The Muslims love to cut off things on the human body of their enemy and those who have defiled the Muslim religion.
To my knowledge, this was always done after an injection of dope that almost completely incapacitated the victim.
He had to be held upright to chop off his head.
As far as I could tell, Nick Berg was alert and conscious, and his head was sawed off rather than chopped off.
This is significant. It shows the world that they don't give our people the same consideration that they do their own.

This brings me to the point:
No matter how friendly Muslims appear to be, and I'm including the smiling people we liberated in Iraq, to them we are still infidels.
I know friendly Muslims, also, but I wouldn't trust them any further than I can see them.

The only way a Muslim can be "Moderate" is to denounce his religion.

They understand power and fear.
It's time to give them a dose of both.

I can't quibble with a word that you have said, and if you get banned (not much of a chance of that IMHO), then I will happily join you in banishment.

The best analogy that describes my thoughts on this subject goes something like this:

You have a neighbor nearby that has an overflowing cesspool that is causing raw sewage to flow onto your land. The disease and smell are horrific and you have to do something about it. No amount of spoken words from you or any groups of other neighbors have been able to accomplish a clean-up, so you decide you have no alternative but to do the work yourself. A couple of the other neighbors have lent a shovel or two, and one guy pitched in to help for a few hours, but most of the work has been through your own efforts.

While you are doing all the work, the original neighbors with the problem are setting on their front porch watching you work. Some seem appreciative, some are angry, some are ignoring you and are having a party, some ask why it is taking so long, some ask you not to step on their flower beds, some even suggest that you could be working a little harder. More than once you have been reprimanded by them for using foul language... they say it offends them.

But none of them leave the porch to help clean up their own mess.

Are you going to be able to complete the clean-up? Sure.

Is it going to cost you a lot of time and effort? Yep.

Are you sure that you are not going to have to return in a short time and do this process all over again? Nope.

Will your neighbors ever learn not to let their sewage spill on you property? I'm afraid not.

Is there anything else that can be done short of simply shooting all your neighbors? I don't know, maybe punching a few in the nose might make you feel better, but really won't accomplish much in the end.

Just what is the solution to a problem neighbor like this? Sorry, I can't think of one.

This analogy seems to fit the situation in the Middle-East. Their sewage (Bin-Laden, Hussien, etal,) has crossed over to affecting our property, and we ignored it for far too long. We need to do something, and we are, but are we sure that we are not going to have to do this again and again over the next few years? If not for this neighbor(Iraq), but for others as well (the rest of the Mid-East)?

Is there a good definitive course of action that is correct, fair, and moral? I don't know, but if a few bloody noses occur during the process, then I am not going to worry about it very much.

From this point forward I will no longer patronize any businesses that employ muslims. I have stopped taking the toll road because they employ all muslims as the toll takers. It would also be a great way to infect 10s of 1000s of people who pass through those toll booths every day.

It's time to cut to the chase here and fight this thing like a war. It's time for a Harry Truman moment. Screw the attorneys, politicians, peacenicks, Geneva Convention and the rest. I'm totally with you, right up until you say we should then leave. This ought to be an option we should consider:

If we are going to do it this way, we ought to make the determination to make this a COLONY of the US. If we are going to do this, we ought to plant one of the most formidible military bases there that has ever been constructed in history, replete with all the most advanced weaponry. We take advantage of all that sand and virtually uninhabitable terrain to conduct very visible weapons testing. We use this as a base of operations to conduct all our future purgings of Islamofacist behavior. If we need more room, we take that, too. If we are going to do this, we MAKE it FOR THE OIL, and take full advantage of that oil - every last drop of it. God knows we are more adept at utilizing the resources of this planet in a more productive manner than anyone else is - especially the Islamofacists - so we would be honoring the planet by doing so.

It is also time to do as stboz says: "Folks, it's time to start showing up outside mosques in this country. No violence....but, put them on the spot. Either you are with us or you are with the terrorists." "Moderate Islam" better show up and learn to get with us - for real - and pronto.

It is time to start letting the world know there are other methods of utilizing massive force than the way the US has been inclined to over the past century. Cut and run is NOT the smart way to do this.
