It's time to cut to the chase here and fight this thing like a war. It's time for a Harry Truman moment. Screw the attorneys, politicians, peacenicks, Geneva Convention and the rest. Give the collateral damage 24 hours notice to enter camps. Then go in to the cities, bomb, shoot, run over any thing else that moves. Then give them their God forsaken piece of sand back and LEAVE.

I'm totally with you, right up until you say we should then leave. This ought to be an option we should consider:

If we are going to do it this way, we ought to make the determination to make this a COLONY of the US. If we are going to do this, we ought to plant one of the most formidible military bases there that has ever been constructed in history, replete with all the most advanced weaponry. We take advantage of all that sand and virtually uninhabitable terrain to conduct very visible weapons testing. We use this as a base of operations to conduct all our future purgings of Islamofacist behavior. If we need more room, we take that, too. If we are going to do this, we MAKE it FOR THE OIL, and take full advantage of that oil - every last drop of it. God knows we are more adept at utilizing the resources of this planet in a more productive manner than anyone else is - especially the Islamofacists - so we would be honoring the planet by doing so.

It is also time to do as stboz says: "Folks, it's time to start showing up outside mosques in this country. No violence....but, put them on the spot. Either you are with us or you are with the terrorists." "Moderate Islam" better show up and learn to get with us - for real - and pronto.

It is time to start letting the world know there are other methods of utilizing massive force than the way the US has been inclined to over the past century. Cut and run is NOT the smart way to do this.

It's well past time to make sure the public understands this is a REAL war, one against the west and east. We've become soft, to our peril.

The administration could shut all this hysteria down about whether we should even be in Iraq if he'd only come out and discuss the links Iraq has to AQ. Laurie Mylroie and others even think they worked together to plan for 9/11. It would shut up the left and we could get serious as a nation, which is what we need to do in order to win. The divisiveness is killing us.

I was just listening to Neal Boortz at the gym and a caller had a good analogy to the WOT and WWII.

The jihadists are the Nazis. The average Muslim are the Germans who stood by silently while atrocities are committed in their name. France, Germany, and the UN are the Neville Chamberlain's of their time. The US and our coalition forces are what we have always been - the defenders of the weak.

"we MAKE it FOR THE OIL,"

There's no way I could agree with you more!
Brilliant!

Well, I was a bit "lathered" last night. By "leave", I mean a whole lot sooner than many years from now. I'd like to see the marsh Arabs and the Kurds have some protection, but right now I couldn't give a damn about the rest of them. Here's another idea!

IF IT WAS GOOD ENOUGH FOR TEXAS, IT'S GOOD ENOUGH FOR IRAQ

The terrorists in Iraq have turned mosques into armed fortresses. Our troops can’t attack these “holy places”. Yes, I know it’s our policy to not destroy anyone’s “church”. But sometimes we also make exceptions when the “need” arises. Whatever your opinion of the Mt. Carmel meltdown, you have to admit it was effective and thorough. And no one, except Tim McVeigh complained much or held the US Government accountable.

Give the residents, aka “collateral damage” 24 hours notice to get out of town to specified camps. Collect all weapons.

Take enough troops to surround every mosque that won’t open up. Take ‘em out of S. Korea, Kosovo, Haiti, and every other “gimme” state that the U.S. defends while they only complain. As for Kosovo, we’ve already messed that up with the UN, Wes Clark and Nato’s help to ever make amends for that travesty.

Get the snipers and shoot anyone trying to escape a hostile mosque.

Cut off the water and electricity. Turn on the flood lights and get out Nancy Sinatra’s “boots” music. Make it REALLY loud.

Wait ‘em out. How long? 30 to 60 days? Then call Janet Reno to find out where to get the CS Gas. Get the tanks, flame throwers and every munition known to man.

David Koresh and his misguided flock considered their “compound” a sacred place. Theirs was a cult, after all, filled with brainwashing, exploitation, intimidation and danger. Whatever the “threat” to the rest of us, those 80 people never killed 3000 of our citizens and over 600 of our young people defending us all, much less put a hole in our economic structure that we’ll be paying off for generations, if we survive this mess called “Iraq”.
