Kristinn, co-leader of the DC Chapter, attended part of the John O'Neill & Swift Boat Veterans for Truth press conference this morning* (details below). Per his request, I'm posting his photos and his captions.

Kirstinn just call in a quick report from the press conference. He could only stay for the first ten minutes. The Press room was packed to overflowing with at least twelve news video cameras and dozens of reporters. Also in attendance were a couple dozen swift boat veterans to speak at the press conference.
O'Neal said that Kerry spoke with Admiral Hoffman, the chairman of the group, for forty five minutes trying to talk him out of doing this. O'Neal said that the swift boat Captains beleive that Kerry is unfit for Commander in Chief and that is their sole reason for speaking out. He stated that if Kerry is dropped out of the Democratic nomination and is replaced that the group will go away. The group also demanded that Kerry sign the two page release to disclose his full medical records. If he can spend fifty to 100 million on his campaign he can take time to fill out a two page form. When asked for a show of hands for those who served with Kerry about a dozen raised their hands. The group said that they have also received nasty messages accusing them of being alcoholics.
The front of the room was filled with enlarged black and white photographs. One was a photo used by the Kerry campaign and one was possibly the photo from the cover of The New Soldier. Photos were provided by Free Republic's Wintersoldier.com. Kristinn spoke briefly with O'Neal and he had very nice things to say about Free Republic. [click here for the rest of that thread]
bump!
This is the most telling statement to me. I wonder how many other veterans have received calls from Effin", and I wonder how many of his "band of brothers" (I like the Band-aid for brothers name) got similar calls and possibly some cash rewards for their, uh, "loyalty" to Kerry.
I would be watching them for new cars, jewelry etc.
Maybe they are listed as "veteran's charities" on Teresa's tax returns.
We are winning ~ the bad guys are losing ~ trolls, terrorists, democrats and the mainstream media are sad ~ very sad!
This is an outright lie. What would this group have to back up it's claims against McCain. These men all served on Swift Boats not F4's!
Transcripts
Transcripts of Booknotes programs are available at Booknotes.org.
C-SPAN does not provide transcripts of other programming.
I called the National Press Club (where the Swift Boat news conference took place), but they told me that it was a private event that was held there. They claim only to have transcripts of their speeches and newsmaker events. Thus, no Swift Boat transcript from them.
Maybe, the Swift Boat Veterans for Truth (click here for their web site) will eventually have a transcript, but none is on their web site now.
You can watch the news conference via computer by opening this file with your RealPlayer program rtsp://video.c-span.org/project/c04/c04050404_antikerry.rm (this might work automatically if you click right here).
If the link and/or instruction above don't work to view this via computer, try going to this web page (click here) and then clicking where it says: "Swift Boat Veterans for Truth Press Conference on Sen. John Kerry (D-MA)."
Finally, if that doesn't work, just go to C-Span home page and type in "swift boat" for a video search in the upper right. When you get the search results, click where it says: "Swift Boat Veterans for Truth Press Conference on Sen. John Kerry (D-MA)."

It really got to me too, especially when one of the vets referred to two suicides among his fellow vets. He ascribed the suicides to their mistreatment at the hands of those who, following the Kerry line about the vets, thought that they were war criminals.
Also, another vet described how Kerry had, in effect, charged him with being a war criminal in front of his wife, his children, his parents, his friends and neighbors, and everyone he will ever meet.
I'm afraid to say that Kerry has successfully spun this as GOP dirty tricks and the leftstream media has bought into it. Certainly, the Kerry-backing history prof Doug Brinkley, who pretends to not be a shill for Kerry, has dismissed the O'Neill and Swift Boat Vets as politically motivated, whereas those who back Kerry have only noble motives.
