ONE SUSPECT ARRESTED, ANOTHER AT-LARGE AFTER WEAPONS & AMMO FOUND ON DOWNTOWN ROOFTOP
KTHV ^

Posted on 04/28/2004 7:51:10 PM PDT by Arkinsaw

Downtown Little Rock is the scene of an intense search after police arrested one man and found weapons, ammunition and a gas mask on a rooftop.

The situation began Wednesday evening after the suspect, Gared Tumblesome, tried to check into a downtown hotel, claiming to be an Air Force Special Forces member. Hotel employees became suspicious and alerted police. Tumblesome was later arrested as he reportedly tried to climb down from a rooftop in the 200 block of West 2nd Street. A search of the rooftop revealed the weapons and ammunition.

Police are still searching for another man, believed to have been staying with Tumblesome at another hotel. Police helicopters are hovering over downtown Little Rock as officers scour the area.

The Air Force has been investigating Tumblesome and claims he made about knowledge of military information.

Paging Jimmy Shifflett.

The Air Force SEALs are missing a Double-Nought Spy.

Anybody can email the good folks at www.navyseals.com, or some other SEAL related websites, and they will get back with you in a day or so with the information about Jared's ever being an actual Navy SEAL. It's easy to check, he either did or did not graduate from BUD/S training in Coronado California.

Extremely bizzare. If I was conspiratorially minded, I'd say we had a patsy being set up to take the fall for an assassination (a Jimmy Shifflett) and the operation went off the rails. Tumblesome (in this scenario) believes he is acting for some Top Secret govt agency, when in fact he is meant to be found on the roof with the proverbial smoking gun after some VIP is shot or almost shot. I'd look at what VIPs were scheduled to be in town over the next week.

One article says he claimed to be AF, other reports say a SEAL... and his buddy boomer here says he's a SEAL... as does the pastor. Fake Navy ID, 33 yrs old. Must have been one kooky call to the Air force base.

I found some Tumblesons in Little Rock, appears to be a trucking and shipping company.

Wonder who his buddy was, and how much they had to drink?

I wonder if his buddy looks like "John Doe #2?"

Sure sounds like a possible setup to me. You can bet Cheney's route and itinerary are all changed now.

Why is this 3 months old event suddenly getting renewed attention?

That's an interesting thought. One guy was under a car, no word on which one that was, other than that one is the one who dropped a card. Maybe the fake navy ID was that card.

I was sorting my links and clicked on this one to see what it was about in order to file it. Nothing special about the timing other than I'm way behind on my organization.

I wonder what became of Jared? Got him back under mind control, is my guess. Like Mel Gibson in Conspiracy Theory.

Police said the package was later found to contain a pair of military-style gas masks, a U.S. Navy ID card believed to be not genuine, a loaded .22-caliber handgun, ammunition for a 9 mm handgun and a shotgun - but no additional weapons, a knife and pornographic material.

...

Hmmmm... Porno.. Little Rock

"Catcher in the Rye"?

"I have known Jared for many years. This is completely not like him. Something is going on and instead of people trying to help and find the cause; everyone just wants to speculate the worst and poke fun."

I think some of the flippancy is simply relief that this very strange situation did not end in tragedy. I am glad to hear that Jared does have a support network that can help him come to terms with his own behavior as this develops.

Some years ago, a close friend of mine was involved in a bizarre and highly publicized incident that did end tragically. My friend was a model citizen in many respects. He was 29, married, and the father of two young children. He had been an officer in the Marines and operated a small property management business while he pursued a graduate degree in philosophy. He was a brilliant debater and extremely knowledgeable about a wide range of subjects. One morning, out of the blue, he drove to a local bank just before it opened, stuck a pistol in the manager's face and robbed the place of something like $30,000. A witness got his license number, the police spotted him within minutes and he led them on a long chase into the country. The cops cornered him on a dirt road. Instead of surrendering and taking the consequences, he put the pistol to his head and blew his brains out. The story led on all the local news programs that night and that's how I learned of it. My first reaction was complete disbelief, it couldn't be the same guy, but it was. To this day, nobody has any inkling of what motivated him to rob a bank. He did not have any serious financial problems, his marriage was happy and stable, and he had never shown any overt indications of mental distress. For months afterward, I reviewed everything he had said or done in my presence, fearful that I might have missed some sign that could have saved his life. There was nothing, and his family and other friends also came up empty in their pursuit of an explanation. It is just a complete mystery to all who knew him and will probably remain so forever.

Too bizarre. I have a fictional idea for some future novel (not the one I'm working on now) involving a tiny implanted chunk of material saturated with some enzyme. It remains solid, until a specific frequency etc is beamed at it. The subjects act totally normally, until one fine day they are "beamed," the enzyme is released into a specific area of the brain, and they flip out into a psychotic episode. Just guide them to the company picnic or bank or executive suite, and "trigger" them into homicidal rage. Just fiction, but reading about cases such as the one you related made me thing of it again.
