Discussion Thread: Kerry's Appearance on GMA Regarding Medals
Good Morning America - ABC News
Posted on 04/26/2004 5:09:02 AM PDT by governsleastgovernsbest
Let's see if I can kick this off.
During the promo at the beginning of the show, where he was standing by live in West Virginia, and throughout the interview itself, Kerry tried hard to keep this huge "what me worry?" smile plastered on his face. He coupled it with numerous condescending head shakes that seemed to imply "these poor benighted fools who so miserably misunderstand the greatness that is John Kerry."

..... when [Kerry] opens his mouth and the lies fly out, he loses more moderate votes. They can't win this November with just the votes of the insane voters of the lunatic left. They need moderate votes. He is losing those voters at a rapid rate. I keep thinking 'landslide' too, Grampa !

"When Clinton lied he did [it] with a half-smile to the interviewer as if to say, 'I know it's a lie, you know it's a lie...but I am expecting you to give it a pass for the Cause,'--- and the press slime-balls ...would give it a pass. ...slap their thighs, shake their heads, and later say to each other, 'The boy is smooth."
They are still doing it and they don't wait till later. Chris Matthews showed a clip of former President Clinton at a recent gathering lying his head off. Mr. Clinton looked ill and unsavory.
After the clip Chris Matthews was grinning like a banshee, laughing and leaning into the camera, "Isn't he [Clinton] the greatest?" Matthews was writhing in his chair. These people are permanently locked in puberty.

Yes. I said other than Fox. We'll get probably nothing or next to nothing from CBS, CNN, NBC.

I meant MSNBC was covering it...(while Fox was talking Jackson)
To: cyncooper
Since I missed GMA, are any of the cables showing it or talking about it today?

The most logical explanation is that Kerry indeed did throw away his medals and sought replacements.I was just thinking about this and I agree. Which points to Kerry's lack of forthrightness to simply explain all of this coherently and honestly.
Apparently he does not want to completely renounce his VVAW affiliation, while at the same time he wishes to claim the title "hero".
And I must say, his denouncing of GWB this morning is beyond repellent.
To: Howlin
Fox covered it. I hear MSNBC covered it as well.

These people are permanently locked in puberty.Yes, and it is amazing how unserious they treat public policy and national security. No wonder 9-11 happened after 8 years of these people. To them, it is all a game, a show.

So the tape was in the Nixon archives. That didn't occur to me. Thanks Rotibiz for that info.
Ok here is a question.. Who was the young female staff lawyer for the Democratic side of the Watergate Commission whose job it was to search the Nixon administration records for informatoin that could be used against Nixon should his impeachment come to a trial in the Senate?
Can you say a young Miss Hillary Rodham? Thought so!
The Nixon tape records are huge. He had every network news cast and public affairs show on tape from the day he took office. He aparently even had local DC stations taped for reference. There were nearly 7 years worth of shows and mountains of paper transcripts in his archives. Someone had to know this tape existed, and what was in it... or at least strongly suspect it was there. That almost had to be Hillary or someone who did a lot of investigating on the Watergate case.
Some one tipped off the N.Y. Times. I doubt seriously if someone took a few months to peruse the Nixon archives on the chance they would find somethning.

True, it's doubtful that Lehman's signature was anything but an automat one. However, since it is his signature, he has the power to follow through and investigate what he signed. I'm not holding my breath, though.

McAuliffe was on Fox & Friends this morning, going hard after Cheney for not serving, making clear he, McAuliffe, was too young to have served.
The concerted effort is clear....Kerrey and the DNC's line of attack on this will be to swing hard at Bush's National Guard Record, and go after Cheney too. Kerrey and McAuliffe were clearly on the same script.
Kerrey opened with: "I'm glad to be here, Charlie, really glad to be here", with that phoney baloney smile super-glued on.
What I especially liked was Kerrey even blaming others for the medal throwing event.Kerrey said: "i was not in favor of throwing them over the fence. i thought we ought to lay them on a table and put them in front of people in a way that, you know, wouldn't be as challenging to many americans. other veterans felt otherwise. they took a vote. the vote was made, they voted to throw. i threw my ribbons. i didn't have my medals. it is very simple"
what is really very simple, is that over the years, Kerrey has treacherously, maliciously played word games with the truth, for personal advantage. Even ABC appears offended with this latest, verified on tape, deception.

I have a great deal of respect for you and your analysis of the vote fraud in Palm Beach County, Florida, in the years 1996 and 2000. Do you know if there's a web site asking questions about all of these latter-day medal/ribbon/citation/whatever awards to Waffle Boy Kerry?

Awards are worn at the option of the wearer, however Commanders may require you to wear them during inspections, parades, social functions, reviews, and funerals
I don't know why you wouldn't want to if you were awarded some medals....BUT you can wear your service uniform without any ribbons.

"Well, the spin has already started, with the AP telling us what we heard..."
I, many of us, and millions of Americans tuned into GMA and watched the Kerry meltdown unfold on live television.
Apparently, the AP got their story from the DNC, since what all of us saw unfold on TV today isn't even close to what the AP is reporting. Heck, even the AP's headline for the story isn't even accurate.
