t is very likely that Hillary Rodham Clinton is going to run for Vice-President of the United States in 2004.

Inside the Washington, DC Beltway, the "professional Republicans" do not believe she will run; instead, the conventional wisdom is that she will wait until 2008 and run for the Presidency.

Guess what? These are the very same people who, back in 1992, never thought then-President George H.W. Bush could possibly lose to a draft-dodging, pot-smoking newcomer named Bill Clinton. So they took Clinton lightly and never even attacked his atrocious record in Arkansas!

Then, in 2000, it happened again. When Congressman Rick Lazio ran against Hillary for the US Senate in New York, his campaign was unprepared and afraid to attack her ultra-liberal record.

These two traits – over-confidence and fear of attacking Hillary’s record – are prescriptions for a national disaster: her election this year as Vice-President of the United States.

We can not allow that to happen!

Right now the Bush Campaign is focused on how to defeat John Kerry. They are not taking Hillary seriously as a Vice-Presidential candidate.

Bill and Hillary Clinton are determined to manipulate the Democratic Party over the next few months until Kerry's running mate has been decided. During this time, Billary will make sure she is in prime contention to run on a Kerry/Clinton national ticket!

If Kerry & Hillary win, we have a national crisis of the first degree, and we could be forced to deal with a Hillary Presidency as early as 2008 as she makes the smooth transition from Vice-President to Presidential candidate.

If she loses? Well, there's no shame in that! Franklin Roosevelt probably did not think his early Vice-Presidential loss was that bad, as he went on to become a four-term President.

We must nip this threat in the bud! We are going to do what those unprepared politicos should be doing: preparing a national campaign ready to begin the very minute Hillary announces she is running for Vice-President.

IMHO Hillary is sabotaging Kerry's campaign. The question is whether it's to take his place now or to ensure such an election disaster for Kerry that she'll be seen as the pary savior. "Sort of" how Nixon became the savior '68 after the Goldwater slaughter in '64, and how Reagan in '80 became the savior after Gerry Ford's ineffectual presidency and loss to Carter in '76.

Firstly, as I understand it, Kerry has enough delegates COMMITTED to take the nomination. So, unless he refuses said nomination, he will be the candidate. Of course, if he turns up in Ft. Marcy Park.......?? hmmmmm.

Too many freepers take Hillary too lightly. Already on this thread there are naysayers. I recall all of the posts here saying she wouldn't be elected to the Senate.

There is an agenda out there folks, and I think it is time some woke up and smelled the socialism, cause Hillary's hand has been at work for months now to defeat President Bush, and it ain't just for the party!

That conventional wisdom is tied very closly to the current election and whether Bush or Kerry win.

If Kerry beats Bush and Hillary Clinton is not on the ticket as vice president, she will probably never be president of the United States. Why?

If Kerry wins in 2004, he will likely seek re-election. Hillary would have to mount the first successful challenge to a presidential renomination since McCarthy forced Lyndon Johnson into retirement in 1968. She will have to mount this challenge or sit out the 2008 contest if Kerry wins in 2004.

And, should Kerry be re-elected, his vice president will probably be the Democratic candidate in 2012. If he wins and runs again, she is sitting it out again.

The only shot at running in 2008 is if Bush wins in 2004. So conventional wisdom above is correct only if that same conventional wisdom thinks Kerry is going to lose.

I agree with you. hillary will go for the top spot during the convention.
It's a perfect opportunity - her record is such that she couldn't survive through a long primary, or even a long presidential race. Her celebrity quotient could last through a few months of a campaign.

She'd get the ABB vote (as would any Dem); she has a following of Feminists (that Kerry can't necessarily bring to the polls); and she'd keep all of the Black vote.

If they let Kerry have the nomination, the Dems will be perceived as being as far to the Left as hillary is, and that won't work. She could run as one of bily's centrist Dems in 2004, but that would be harder in 2008 if Kerry is the nominee in 2004.

They'll let Kerry twist in the wind until the convention, then hillary will ride to the rescue. They will, of course, hope that President Bush will have spent all of his money on an anti-Kerry campaign.

Whatever else, Hillary is much more powerful than we generally give her credit for. She has much more "love" from the dimwits than we can begin to understand--and I certainly do not understand it. I thought Gephardt would be the Dem candi--goes to show what my instincts are. Maybe it was because he seemed the least of a league of evils.

I've done some research on newsmeat.com looking into the donations of individuals. I see Hillary's name, over and over--and I'm not looking at NY donors, but in states all over the country. This surprised me.

She has lots of pull.
