Heard Powell. don't look for the press to pick up and report the actual views any decade soon though.

And they can dish out a perfectly good smackdown.

Now, if ONLY they can be conviced to repeal the ephedra ban...

I figured those interviews were from his first book. I can't imagine any media stooge having that much access to the White House, post 9/11. He told 60 Minutes he interviewed 78 top level officials, and the only name he dropped was Colin Powell.

He took a broad swipe at every Christian, Bush included, by labeling Christians as stupid, and socially challenged. Bush talked to God, and Bush thought God was responding to him. All the while falling back on the same rhetoric spewed from the left that Bush was incompetant, and everyone around him was making the key decisions, and Cheney was calling the shots from his undisclosed location.

Kitty Kelly has a book being released that month that will be another Bush-basher.

Well, Bush would do well to find out what's going to be in there and either refute it or admit it way before October to take out Kitty's sting.

In some small way, going to war to free the Iraqi people from the despot makes up for the inactivity of the previous administration while Rwanda stained our history.

and why were they talking to Woodward for the first book? why couldn't they have given Bill Sammon that access for example? do you see what I am talking about. its like a woman who brings home a gorgeous 18 year old swedish nanny, and then complains that her husband is having an affair with her. if she hadn't brought the nanny home in the first place, it might not have happened!

You nailed it.

Woodward is trying for a two-fer.

I'd love to re-read his first book and this one and make comparisons.

Rich Armitage is Powell's alter ego and probably is the source of Woodward's info.

Listen, on CNN, Begala just said that on Late Edition yesterday that General Myers CONFIRMED that the plan was shown to Banadar before Powell saw it.

From the transcript:

BLITZER: One final question on this new book that has just come out by Bob Woodward, in which he describes a section in the buildup to the war where you and the defense secretary, the president, basically told the Saudi ambassador to the United States, Prince Bandar, before you even told the secretary of state Colin Powell, who was once chairman of the Joint Chiefs, about the actual war plan, including showing him maps that had "no foreign distribution" on it in order to get Saudi support.

Is that account, which we see in The Washington Post today, accurate of what happened in the buildup to the war?

MYERS: I haven't read the book. Obviously I haven't had access to the book.

I haven't read the account in The Washington Post, although I'm aware of that account. It sounds basically correct. And, at that time, we were looking for support of our allies and partners in the region. Saudi Arabia's been a strategic partner in the region for a very long time, and we were looking for their support. And so, part of the way we do that is to ask them and show them how and why we need their support in certain areas.

BLITZER: Do you feel comfortable showing a Saudi ambassador the war plan before you even share it with the secretary of state?

MYERS: I don't know about that part of it. I don't know about not sharing it with the secretary of state. I think he was fully aware of the war plan. I don't know that that was the issue. But I felt comfortable, at the time, doing what we were doing with the Saudi ambassador.

The most respected man in the world, according to nearly every poll taken, is Colin Powell.

And he has basically called Woodward a liar. Hah!

How do you know Bill Sammon wanted to write a book?

And does the concept of HAVING NOTHING TO HIDE escape you?

No doubt Woodpecker was ordered to write this book to make up for the previous book favorable to our President.

After all, he does want to get invited to all the parties and he doesn't want to get invited to picnic lunch at Ft. Marcy Park.

The left can spin it anyway they want, but it's obvious Powell was briefed at the appropriate time and in advance of the Saudi prince.

I never thought I'd see the day
when Woodward was refuted by such
stature as Colin Powell, who commands
media attention.
Colin Powell is NEWS.
