Favorite FReepers...
Me. | April 9, 2004 | Long Cut

Posted on 04/09/2004 2:37:38 PM PDT by Long Cut

We've all done it. You've just gotten home, logged on to FR, and are scrolling down the "Latest Posts" page, deciding which thread will get your attention this evening, when THAT SCREENNAME jumps out at you in a "to" or "from" position. You are powerless to resist; if THAT GUY's there, it's gonna be a good thread...

All of us have our own "favorites" among the many colorful souls who congregate at this fine website. They could be someone you disagree totally with, agree completely with, or somewhere in between. They might be a fount of useful information, links, and facts. Our favorite might be devastating at the art of debate; demolishing opponents in truly unique style, or he might be just plain nuttier than squirrel dung, but fun nonetheless.

Perhaps your favorite FReeper has a way with words; an excellent writer. Maybe they are someone highly experienced in a particular field, with knowledge that many do not posess. Maybe they're dumber than a bag of hammers.

Point is, no matter what the reason, our "favorite FReepers"' handle attached to a thread makes it all the more interesting to us; it guarantees a wild ride or sublime pleasure in the reading and learning. It may also guarantee an increase in blood pressure and indigestion, but one thing's for sure...that thread HE's on is gonna get a hit or two, and it won't be boring.

I've got more than a few of my own, and I'm sure all of you do as well. WHO'S YOURS?????????????????

I have too many favorites to name, because I will leave some out.

I will instead post the name of a freeper who is mostly on the America the Right Way thread, and who has inspired me with his faith, love of life, common sense, and hhumor. He is a retired sheriff in Mississippi, and his name is gulfcoast6. He has been an inspiration to me. I have put his name here because I think he isn't noticed much.

I have many, many favorites here, so I am simpy going to say that ALL of you are valuable to me. This is the place that has given me friendship and education, and has expanded the world far beyond my own neighborhood. Thank you all!

Thanks, guys, I'll email you the twenty bucks... ;-)

Too many to mention, really, but I miss Chief Negotiator and harpseal. And Ash, of course. How could we have a thread like this without mentioning Ash?

Many's the night I've watched them, over many hours, demolish nonscientific arguments and educate those who wanted to be.

Who wanted to be non-scientific arguments?

What you were watching was mostly Tautologies-R-Us.

I am going to assume this is not tongue in cheek; or a lame attempt at irony.

Lame??? Nay, it was the opposite of lame, whatever that is. In fact, it was so subtle in its irony, so nuanced in its ironic-ness, that it was profoundly ironic. And entertaining.

And maybe you didn't notice, but I am someone's favorite freeper. So back off, or you will be facing me and my army in a flame war that will scorch the web with its ferocity.

I would have to say you are one of my favorites. I have learned so much since I joined your Israel ping list!

I also love any FReeper who takes the time to say a prayer and post words of encouragement or salvation to someone in need. It truly means so much. As a former lurker who used to pray when I read a thread, I thank the lurkers who currently do that too.

The ringleader of FR's evolutionist band of brigands...

All right, how much did you pay to get to be the ringleader? I demand a recount. In fact I demand a preemptive recount. I demand a precount.

I've been here on FR for over 6 years now - and I cannot possibly name my favorite freepers. A LOT of them don't post here much anymore (if at all) - but I sure do miss a lot of them.

Anyway - freepers are just the absolute BEST!!!!

I love you all.

In post 160 I modestly declined the honor. But then, I do have a way of getting noticed ...

That leaves me out here as nobody's favorite.

My life is a waste.

Boo Hoo.

I know this is about current freepers, but two of my favorites and personal heroes should be mentioned.

BCM--Battalion Chief Moran who gave his life trying to save those trapped in the World Trade Center.

BKO--Barbara Olsen, who did so much to expose the evil that is the Clintoons.
RIP
