Well I respect the army after they went all volunteer. It is not the old army of yore. Still, you do not see USMC support units getting shot up.
I really like the way the "transformation" planning is going. Shoomakers (sp?) idea of the new integreated Brigades and Units of Action are great (and right out of the Corp's playbook, if you ask me.)I just hope that they do not leave the Corp out of the "net centric"/Future combat SYstems tranformation. IMHO, they need to up the budget for the USMC. But of course I have my biases.

Watch for Kerry/Kennedy comments on U.S atrocities. They are doing the same things as Kerry did during Viet Nam.But the mood of the American people is different this time. Now we have the images of the Twin Towers falling, he Pentagon burning, and a smoking hole in the ground in Pennsylvania. We won't be upset about our military killing those who made those attacks possible, or who are willing to carry out even more if given the chance.
Kennedy and Kerry can bleat all they want; I think it will hurt them in the long run. This is NOT Vietnam, as much as the Dems would like to equate the two.

I'm reading through this thread late, but one timely comment about your hours-old post - just saw CNN's coverage on this, here's the spin.
They are talking about how Sadr's "insurgency" has grown from a few hundred Shi'ites to thousands and thousands of Iraqis, and how alarming it is that the "insurgency" has grown so much in response to US operations since last week.
No mention whatsoever about foreign fighters in Iraq, stirring things up. Paints a whole different picture when you throw in the facts, doesn't it.
Thanks for the updates, Bogdan, and hope your daughter is doing well. :)

Thanks. The info you're posting is not in any way jeopardizing anyone. If it wasn't supposed to be out it would not be.

They Are
Democrats They are at war with the rest of us. They really do hate the country, it is not just a theory. All they want is power over us. They would sell us out in a heartbeat. I would not be surprised if there was some actual collusion at some level. What they should really ask themselves is to what degree there assaults on the POTUS in a time of war has been an enabler here. The GOP should point that out too. It is time to stop the "new Tone."
The GOP needs to point out the positive in this. and do it soon. It actually is a good thing, excepting of course the loss of American lives. I wonder how we can ever win a war with these people around. Such childish cowards.

For the record, I was paraphrasing Miklaszewski.
Teddy and Cronkite are in a league all their own. Miklaszewski is just 'a' messenger. One of many with Pentagon credentials.
Also it pays to remember that Charlie never took the field after Tet '68.
Quite frankly, they didn't need to. The damage on the homefront had already been done. However, the NVA only increased the flow of men and supplies down Ho's trail after Tet68. We (the US) lost the will. The ARVN never had it to lose.

You're right. By acting up now, we get them while we still are in full control of the country.
This is a GOOD thing.
I am ecstatic that they have chosen this time. I suspect our whole military command structure is, too.

US marines pressing an offensive in this Iraqi town west of Baghdad bombed a mosque in the center of the town Wednesday and killed up to 40 insurgents inside, a marine officer said. The attack came from a jet aircraft at a high angle to minimize the impact, the officer said. "We wanted to kill the people inside," said Lieutenant Colonel Brennan Byrne. Where are the BUFFs?
As in Afghanistan, there should always be a B-52 orbiting over the trouble spots ready to provide overwhelming power.

bogdan, this is such a rich and lively thread, perhaps you could simply 'hit the abuse button' on any individual post you think may have crossed the line.
Something I'm familiar with, lol.
