....Every Day

FR is a Treasure Trove of talented, compassionate, patriotic, wonderful people who gather every day to discuss the latest news and issues; salute and support our military and our leaders;  tell a few jokes;  learn a new word;  write poetry;  pray for those in need;  and congratulate those who are deserving. Thank you, Jim Robinson, for giving us the vehicle in which we can express ourselves.

Free Republic made its debut in September, 1996, and the forum was added in early 1997.   Over 100,000 people have registered for posting privileges on Free Republic, and the forum is read daily by tens of thousands of concerned citizens and patriots from all around the country and the world.

So many people have written me since my original Veteran's Day Tribute, asking how they, or a loved one, could be included in that tribute. Since I could no longer add the photos to the body of the thread, I had been including them in additional posts as I received enough to make another collage.

Still that didn't seem to be enough. I think there's never been a better nor more appropriate time to keep the faces of our own Veterans and Active Military in front of FReepers--every day! That's why I wanted to do yet another Daily Thread .....ABOUT FReepers .....and FOR FReepers. But not only about our Military FReepers; for all FReepers! Wouldn't it be nice to get to know a few of the other FReepers as well? That's why we've created a place for just that. This is a friendly room in JimRob's house where FReeper FRiends can gather every day and just say hello if that's all they want to do.

There's more of course. We sometimes feature different FReepers, with a little background information on who they are and what makes them who they are, along with a few photos you might not have seen on other threads; sometimes others write an essay for us to post as the feature for the day; sometimes our presentation is a human interest story found elsewhere that you might not have read; sometimes special holiday threads; but whatever the topic of the day, it is always with FR's Finest in mind and that is YOU!

If you would like to be featured, or would like to see someone else featured, please send me a private FR mail.

Every Monday we will post the photos of FR's Military Personnel that I have collected and put into groups; these will be available to view through a link the remainder of the week - every day just a click away. :)   If you would like to add a photo of yourself or a loved one in the military, past or present, please let me know; I will hold it until I have enough for a new group.

Hello everyone! Welcome to a new week and a new edition of Military Monday.

Congratulations Warrior Nurse, thank you for your selfless service to our country. God bless and may you return home safely soon. Thanks Mayor and Free for making mention of such a noteworthy accomplishment.

Our family get together was wonderful, it is always a treasure to spend time with ones you love. We drove all over East Texas enjoying scenery, especially at a place called Mrs. Lee's garden. She left a large tract of land for public use that she planted with 1,000's of daffodils. A dirt path winds through 5 miles of flower and tree covered hills, traced by brooks and eddies, accessed by foot bridges. It was magnificent to open the windows and hear nothing but the hush of nature. I'd love to stay there for about a week. We did other typical girl things--had lunch in a tea room, made jewelry and went shopping. Dad was a great sport and joined us for lunch but did his own thing for the afternoon. Not to worry, we spent all day with him Saturday making sure he was happy. :)

Please don't forget this Saturday, March 20, about our Support America/Troops rallies. Our men and women need the encouragement even more as we lose Spain as an ally. Pray for our troops and pray for a change of heart in the Spanish government that they will realize backing down is not the answer. Pray for the Spanish families who suffered devastating loss because of terrorist attacks on their trains. God bless our troops, our allies and our President. God bless America.

Dear Heavenly Father,

Now, more than ever, please place our troops in Your loving hands and protect them the way that they protect us with their selfless acts. Bless their families and ease their fears and tribulations during these trying times.

Lord, I don't understand what's going on in Spain, but it troubles me deeply. I am worried that the act of terrorism that has triggered their election and ultimately their withdrawal of support happened so fast and could possibly happen here.

Please bless the souls of the people who died in Spain and in Israel over the past few days. Please protect and bless our President and his family. Please oversee the integrity of his military advisors. And, above all, please allow decency, morality and our love of You to reign on unencumbered by attacks from the left.

I ask these favors as your humble and contrite servant. Thank you for the many blessings you have given us. In the Nmae of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, Amen.

Saturday, I was being taken home from babysitting and I saw what at first, I thought was a wild turkey but when we turned the corner it turned out to be a buzzard - I'm use to seeing them in the country not in the a busy suburb with cars and kids and lots of activity going on.

But there it was sitting in that front yard, pretty as you please, chomping on it's dinner...
