Self | March 14, 2004 | Libertina

Posted on 03/14/2004 9:12:25 PM PST by Libertina

America still says NO to Assner, Socialists and Communists! Ed Asner is coming to Seattle to tell us the "World still says no to war" and wave the white flag of surrender to terrorists...er...wave his white banner.

The first speaker launched immediately into hate-Israel, it's "the Jews,"

Uh huh. Probably the same folks who were so "concerned" that the Passion of the Christ was bad because they deemed it "anti-semetic".

Kiro Radio interviewed me, but I never listen to Kiro radio, so I don't know if what I said was aired. It was nice being able to speak up for America into a microphone, though.

Ramon Robalino, 4, took part in the rally, holding a sign that read "Another family for Peace" and featuring a large sunflower in the middle.

His father, Mauricio, said he wants his children to learn the value of peace. "I don't want my kids to grow up to represent this kind of evil," he said.

I am continually amazed at the complete lack of realization these people posess. Saving millions of people from a torturing, murdering tyrant is evil? They think peace is absence of war. They don't realize that pacifism does NOT bring peace. It's sad, really.

Been looking for you, and here are the ones I got of that end...

That last one is your sign isn't it?

Well Defender I wish I had found another Freeper. I decided to stop by the pier myself. No more solo activism for me. I had no sign (thank God) but proudly sported a t-shirt with Bush/Cheney emblazoned across the back. Aside from being spit on twice, it was a rather informative adventure. I learned all about the Zionist conspiracy and its bloodthirst for Palestinian children. I also learned that the Pres and VP take oil baths together. And oh yeah, some guy name Marx can solve all our problems.

Assner IS a communist. I've heard it from his own filthy mouth. They actually spit on you? Tells you a great deal about what kind of people these really are. They're good at spitting, so maybe we should send them over to the sandbox to live with the camels. If only we could......

Me too.... like the quote on the news this morning from one of the protesters who "blames the US involvement for the recent loss of life in the hotel in Baghdad". She wants our troops to pull out now.

Does she have any idea the mayhem that would result if we ~did~ just up and do that?

Great shots Hair...and, yes, the pacifists never change. If we pulled out of Iraq and chaos and mayhem and a terrorist state (re)appeared -- that would be Bush's fault, America's fault (becuase there is "no justification" for war in their eyes ever).

What they believe that they will never say is that they think it is better to leave Saddam Hussein and his regime in power to have his will with the people who live in Iraq and around Iraq. They will never say it, but they believe that with all their hearts. Because in their world of moral equivalency, Bush (America) killing terrorists and despots is the same thing as terrorists or despots killing innocents. It's just another offshoot of the polluted morality that says executing a murderer is the same thing as the murder in the first place (something they believe as well).

They truly believe that America exerting its power, particularly under a Republican President, against tyrants and despots is every bit as evil as Saddam gassing the Kurds, or raping Kuwait or torturing tens of thousands of his own people. They believe this because it is comfortable for them: They are fearful, sedentary and wealthy. They believe everyone, everywhere has the same basic motivations they do (except conservatives in America, they are incorrigably evil). They believe that if you just think something away -- something unpleasant, dangerous -- then it just has no power over you.

They've constructed an imaginary world for themselves, a very comfortable one where logic, reason and, most importantly, reality never needs to intrude upon their lives. They, the western leftists, are the most religious, faith-based people that has ever existed. The problem for them is that their faith is based on a comfortable fiction, a vapor thinner than their own thoughts.

Reality always wins in the end...always defeats their philosophy. Not that even reality will ever change their minds. Neville Chamberlain was still defending appeasement as a policy to the end of his life.

Thanks for posting the article. Though the stories mention the "anti" side at least the pics from The Olympian and The News Tribune show the Support the Troops side. There is apparently a separate story for the Big Anti rally in Seattle (which I'm sure contains photos) in the TNT...but I decided not to waste my time reading it.

I'll join you next time *IF* there is a lot of activity promoting our side of the event...ie Radio and Press. In other words there needs to be a group of at least 10-20 FReepers and there has to be a meeting place and someone needs to advise the police we will be there, etc. Counter FReeping is a lot of organizing work...

Solo FReeps are OK if you go incognito but then what's the point, and as you noted, can swing to the dangerous side.

Not such bad articles, but our event last November ahd closer to 8000, NOT 2000. And I don't enjoy being called a demostrator. Other than that, it was good except for one thing - HOW COME NO PICTURES OF THE ANTIs? I think because they are so loathesome to look at and would put people off. The second article that compared us should show a comparative PICTURE! The dopey, simplistic sunflower and peace signs, the ominous UN flags waving over our brave soverign country while the great whining unwashed are enraptured by names like Assner, Castro and Marx...

Great Pics and Patriots!
Traveled that I-5 route MANY times when we lived in Olympia.
Always nice to see sunny spring skies in the Puget Sound area.
Have to laugh when I think of "Marge and Bill" driving down I-5, completely oblivious to the rallies, and they come upon all those flags.
"What the hell is that, Marge?"
"I dunno. Yer the one who thinks he knows everything that's going on."

Go gettim' WA freepers! Noticed in today's paper that hundreds were at the protesting but at the counterprotesting there were just about a dozen holding Bush re-election signs. Looks like we know what side the Cowles family & the Spokesman-Review is on!!!!!!

Hey Drango! It was nice to meet you yesterday! But c'mon, guy. Do you really think the media gives a flip about US? It might be fun, though. I'd like to get in their face if I wasn't the only one doing it!
