Are you a FReeper with a good voice? Then PLEASE click here! (voice-overs)
Hey, FReepers! We're looking for voice-talent for these FReeper ads:
- The Truth About The Economy Campaign Ad #1
- The Truth About John Kerry Campaign Ad #5: Most Liberal Politician
- The Truth About John Kerry Campaign Ad #1: The AWOL Senator
You can see the ads, in their current state, HERE.
Basically, we can't afford professional voice-overs. However, there must be some FReepers out there with good voices. So, if you do have a good voice, please record any (or all) of the following scripts (in separate files - WAV or MP3), and send them to THIS email address.
Thank you for your help!
Note: the length of the recording must not exceed the time limit, if given.
Economy 1 (28 Seconds)
John Kerrys friends in the press are at it again distorting the truth about the economy.
They talk about todays unemployment rate as if it was high, but back in 1996, they called the same rate low.
And did you know that the first three years of the Bush administration, compared to the Clinton administration, had higher economic output, higher productivity, lower inflation, and lower unemployment levels?
Liberal politician John Kerry and his friends in the press are talking down the economy, merely for political gain.
John Kerry hell say anything to win.
AWOL Senator (no time limit)
Senator John Kerry MISSED the vote on prescription drugs.
Senator John Kerry MISSED the vote on Homeland Security.
Senator John Kerry Missed 64% of ALL votes last session
John Kerry... AWOL Senator
John Kerry - Most Liberal Senator (28 Seconds)
The National Journal ranked Senator John Kerry as the most liberal Senator - more liberal than even Ted Kennedy!
The New York Times calls John Kerry a "Liberal Democrat."
The Economist calls John Kerry a "down-the-line Liberal."
Liberal John Kerry CONSTANTLY voted to SLASH the defense and intelligence budgets, making the country less safe.
Liberal John Kerry voted for the BIGGEST tax increase in history - and he'll do it again!
Liberal John Kerry... wrong for America.
Thanks!

LOL
Improv is okay (to keep within the limits) -- as long as the basic facts, jabs, and pointed criticisms remain (i.e. the general gist).
As I recall, you have a good voice, Nick.

I only listened to one of the ads (the first one--slow dial-up) but my biggest complaint is not with the quality of the voice, but rather the pacing. The woman reading the ad had the sort of haste in her voice that generally connotes dishonesty. While I'm aware the pacing was dictated by time constraints, it would be better to speak fewer words and have them come across better, than to speak more but sound like a used car dealer.

Proposed rewrite:
John Kerrys friends in the press are at it again distorting the truth about the economy.
They talk about todays x.x% unemployment rate as if it was high. In 1996, however, they called the same rate low.
They say the economy is terrible. But under Bush's leadership, economic output and productivity are higher, and inflaction and unemployment lower, than under Clinton.
So why are John Kerry and his friends in the press talking down the economy?
John Kerry hell say anything to win.

==================================
"Well, it seems John Kerry and his friends in the press are at it again. Twistin' the truth. This time about the economy.
"Now you take the unemployment rate. The press is talkin' about it like it's sky high.
"But did you know back in, oh, 1996 or so, under that other president, the unemployment numbers were nearly the exact same. The exact same!
"Only differece is back then those fellows (in the press) considered them same numbers as today as bein' low. Meaning everyting was blue skies as far as you could see. The same numbers.
"Don't that beat all?
"I guess it just depends on whose runnin' the country.
(Spoken like he just remembered) "Oh, and did you know that the first three years Bush was in office we had had higher economic output, higher productivity and almost no inflation?
"Not that you'd know it the way John Kerry and his friends in the press are talking. "Talkin' down the economy". That's what call it. And that's what they're doin'
"I don't know about you but I don't trust a man's friends who would do somethin' like that...or the man himself. Doesn't seem right. Doesn't seem honest.
"But it sure seems like John Kerry though."

One thing that helped cut out a lot of noise for us was to buy a USB desktop microphone (Logitech). By being USB it bypasses alot of the junk in computers (especially laptops). Also -- a better program than the Sound Recorder in Windows is GoldWave (
http://www.goldwave.com/release.html). It was able to record at much better resolution.
