 SMEAR FACTOR
Kerry Election Strategy Clear: Smear
_________________________________________________________

“‘We’re going to keep pounding, let me tell you. We’re just beginning to fight here,’ Kerry said. ‘These guys are the most crooked, you know, lying group I’ve ever seen. It’s scary.’”  (Jill Zuckman and Jeff Zeleny, “Unscripted Kerry Calls GOP Liars,” Chicago Tribune, 3/11/04)

JOHN KERRY HAS BEEN SMEARING PRESIDENT FOR MONTHS

February 2004: Kerry Campaign Advisor Stated “[E]verything Is On The Table. Everything.”  (Robin Toner, “G.O.P. Revives Line Of Attack Against Kerry,” The New York Times, 2/5/04)

December 2003: Kerry Uses F-Word To Attack Bush Iraq Policy. “I mean, when I voted for the war, I voted for what I thought was best for the country. ... Did I expect George Bush to f*** it up as badly as he did?  I don’t think anybody did.”  (John Kerry As Quoted In Will Dana, “John Kerry’s Desperate Hours,” Rolling Stone, 12/2/03)

December 2003: Kerry Charges Bush Administration “Cheat People” On Education. “‘They’re not even trying,’ [Kerry] said. ‘They make a deal on a bill called No Child Left Behind and then they don’t put any money out there.  They cheat people.’” (Mike Wilson, “Kerry Talks Issues With Diner Crowd,” The Associated Press, 12/20/03)

December 2003: Kerry Says “Radical” Bush Administration “Trampled” On Civil Rights. “‘There is nothing conservative or traditionally Republican about this administration,’ Kerry said.  ‘It is radical in the way that it has trampled on that fine line drawn between church and state and in the way it has trampled, through its attorney general, on the civil rights of Americans.’”  (Ron Fournier, “Democrats Meet For Final Debate Of Year,” The Associated Press, 12/9/03)

September 2003: Kerry Compares President Bush To Jefferson Davis. Kerry: “The president says one thing about children, does another, one thing about taxes, does another, about housing, about the war, about -- goes to Goree Island, spends a few minutes, behaves like Abraham Lincoln, goes to South Carolina, behaves like Jefferson Davis on the Confederate flag.” (Fox News/CBC, Democrat Presidential Candidate Debate, Baltimore, MD, 9/9/03)

September 2003: Kerry Said President Couldn’t Find Countries In Our Hemisphere . Kerry: “[I]t would be wonderful to have a President of the United States who could find the rest of the countries in this hemisphere.” (Congressional Hispanic Caucus, Democrat Presidential Candidate Debate, Albuquerque, NM, 9/4/03)

April 2003: Kerry Retained Right “To Use Family’s Wealth” To Pay For His Smear Machine.   Kerry “said he retained the right to use his family’s wealth ... to fight what is expected to be a $200 million Bush barrage before Labor Day 2004. ‘I know the kind of campaign they are going to run,’ he said, ‘and I am prepared to fight back.’”  (Howard Fineman, “Having A Gay Old Time,” Newsweek, 5/5/03)

April 2003: Kerry Compared President To Saddam Hussein. “‘What we need now is not just a regime change in Saddam Hussein and Iraq, but we need a regime change in the United States,’ Kerry said in a speech at the Peterborough Town Library. Despite pledging two weeks ago to cool his criticism of the administration once war began, Kerry unleashed a barrage of criticism as US troops fought within 25 miles of Baghdad.”(Glen Johnson, “Kerry Says Us Needs Its Own ‘Regime Change,’” The Boston Globe, 4/3/03)

April 2003: Kerry States World Leaders Don’t “Trust This President.”   “I don’t think they’re [world leaders] going to trust this president, no matter what ...”  (John Kerry As Quoted In Glen Johnson, “Kerry Says US Needs Its Own ‘Regime Change,’” The Boston Globe, 4/3/03)

March 2003: Kerry Derides Bush As “Marlboro Man.” Kerry: “They have managed him the same way they managed Ronald Reagan.  They send him out to the press for one event a day, they put him in a brown jacket and jeans and get him to move some hay or drive a truck, and all of a sudden he’s the Marlboro Man.  I know this guy.  He was two years behind me at Yale, and I knew him, and he’s still the same guy.” (Julia Reed, “A Man In Full,” Vogue, 3/3/03)

If Bush hasnt changed, its fair to say Kerry has only gotten worse...

Given that Bush was partying and Kerry was screwing our fight against communism in the cold war, ill take the partyer who will protect us rather than a commie who will sell us down the river...

I set up a new free e-mail, just so I could sign up for Dem mailing lists without cluttering my real e-mail. In it's first two days of existence, I've already received two fundraising e-mails "From the desk of John Kerry" and both whined about the evil Republican attack machine. Shockingly, only one of the two alluded to his service in Vietnam:

3/10 - A Message from John Kerry: We're United

Before us stretch long months of effort and challenge. We have no illusions about the Republican attack machine and what our opponents will try to do. But in this campaign, I've been reminded of something I first learned as a young man on a Navy boat on the other side of the world…

3/11 – My Meeting with Howard Dean:

Winning this election will be a challenge like no other. If the past few weeks are any indication, the Republican attack machine will pull out every trick in the book to distract from the issues at stake.

Man, he's a whinger.

"I know this guy. He was two years behind me at Yale, and I knew him, and he’s still the same guy."

Russert read this quote to Bush and asked if he knew Kerry at Yale. Bush said no.

Some months back I wondered what Kerry was like. Kerry answered my question himself when Bush appointed Pickering to the bench.
Statement from John Kerry on Bush’s Recess Appointment of Charles Pickering
George W. Bush is unilaterally installing a man on a federal appeals court who advocated tirelessly on behalf of a cross-burner.
Kerry is not a nuanced speaker. Kerry is a brazenly outspoken smearer.

"I have no intention whatsoever of apologizing for my remarks," Kerry said in a news conference. "I think the ... Republicans need to start talking about the real issues before the country." link

Glenn Beck played a tape of Kerry's non-apology several times on his radio show today. Kerry clearly started to say "administration" where I have inserted the ellipses above. He said, "I think the admin... Republicans need to start ..." It's about time macho man (Vietnam vet, windsurfer, motorcycle rider) Kerry admit that he was calling George W. Bush crooked and a liar, or else just shut up, Pepe.

Well, we know what Kerry was like at Yale. He elimated debating at the Political Union, and brought in speakers, instead.

The Rise and Fall of the Political Union: The glories of Yale's original debating societies contrast sharply with the atrophy of today's union

As president, [of the Political Union] Kerry officially extinguished debate during the 1960s, transforming the Union into a lecture series . . . He dealt the Union a blow from which she has yet to recover.
Since the 1960s membership and participation has steadily declined. >From a membership of over 1000, the Union has dwindled to around 150

Absolutely, of the worst kind. Beyond the obvious lack of morality and ethics, Kerry's political rhetoric is also laughably juvenile, banal, inarticulate, and patently insincere. It's remarkable that this same man could be deemed so "electable" by the conventional wisdom of his party and the mainstream media.

Indeed. Truly puzzling.

Tax increases ahead

Upcoming Automatic Tax increases detailed by the Republican Study Committee, this is what will happen if Congress doesn't act and a virtual certainty if Kerry is elected.

I agree. The comment Kerry made when Bush appointed Pickering, is one example of Kerry's unnuanced claptrap.

If Kerry were written into a play as a character with another name, people would notice his statements are empty and he is a fake.

Come to think of it, "Kerry's Unnuanced Claptrap" sounds like something cheap that you'd buy in a bottle at a liquor store.
