Spain has been one of our strongest allies, along with Britain and Australia, and we need to make sure they know we are supposrting them in this trying time.

As an Brit here in England, I'd like to second the above posts to the people of Spain. Together we can rise up against the bastards of ETA and their associates.

What a wonderful idea, considering the outpouring of support and condolences we received during our own national tragedy. Here is what I sent:

To the People of Spain:
I have always admired the culture and people of your great nation. Your country has stood by mine during the tragedy of 9/11/01 and during the recent Iraq war. You have been staunch allies and good friends. It is with a heavy heart that I send my sincere condolences to your nation upon the news of today's cowardly attacks upon innocent Spanish citizens.
Terrorism cannot be allowed to sway your nation or mine from our just cause of peace and prosperity for all the world's peoples. I pray that the Lord God watches over you and comforts those injured in these greivous attacks.

While we appreciate Americas true allies we seldom tell them. I would suggest writing Spanish newspapers as well. The Spanish people should know that we support them in their time of need like they have done for us.

I love Spain, I feel horrible. Right now, as reports say "A top Basque politician, Arnold Otegi, denied the separatists were behind the blasts and blamed "Arab resistance." Many al-Qaida-linked terrorists were captured in Spain or were believed to have operated from there." ... Either Basque or Arab, we are now at war with ALL TERRORISM, and the world has to wake up.

Thanks for the ping! This is real horror. I clicked on one of the newspapers from a link on the thread; that paper seemed to say that they really think it was the Basque separatists. (Not that terrorists don't cooperate with one another--so al quaeda probably IS involved.)
