Has Same-Sex Marriage Eliminated The Estate Tax? (How's this scenario....)

Your Mom and Dad have a ton of money, and much of it will be hit with heavy estate taxes when they both pass on.
So, let's say your Dad dies, and your Mom has all the money.
Now, if marriage is going to be defined as an agreement between consenting adults, simply marry your Mother. She does love you, doesn't she? And you love her!
You become her husband. If necessary, she can legally disown you as her son.
When she passes on, her estate, which you share as you're married, will go laterally to you, her spouse, rather than vertically between generations.
Of course, if your Mom predeceases your Dad, simply marry your Dad. Same-sex? No problem!
Heck, marry them both.
Bigamy? Oh please...that's so discriminatory.
In fact, get married to your own children too so you have a family not of parents and children but solely of spouses.
Any attorneys and tax accounts out there who want to weigh in before I call my widowed Mother?

Not many responses. Once marriage is defined as merely a contract between consenting adults, I can't see any other barriers standing.
Interestingly, in Florida, marriage automatically confers adult status, so I suppose a stepfather could marry an infant stepdaughter. Or son.
No need for divorce.

the law of unintended consequences I totally agree and unfortunately most liberals are so narrow-minded or have
goals so narrowly defined that unintended consequences don't enter their thinking.
Besides, when unfortunate unintended consequences do occur, the libs will just
blame the conservatives for them.

He has found that for several years news organizations have been advertising openly for gay reporters. Those reporters have been hired and pushing their agenda. If true .. it would not surprise me

Um, there's a teensy, weensy problem with this. Even states like West Virginia have laws against marryin' yer Momma. Other than that minor detail, it's a cute idea. Yea ... but CA has a law against same sex marriage and that didn't stop the Mayor of SF and others to ignore the law

I wish it were a stupid article.
The same was said of Phyliss Shafly about 30 years ago, when she predicted men marrying men etc.
Children marrying their parents is only a few years away at most.

Yes exactly. Remember the luxury tax on boats and cars? That put the US boat building industry out of business. The resulting loss in tax base was orders of magnitude more then any taxes collected.

Don't laugh, I am sitting here tonight with one of Califonria's top lawyers and when I showed them this they said they had already thought about this themselves well before this post and grinned while reading this.
This is NO joke on some levels, could end up being a major estate planning tool in the future.
