Remember that most voters in the South are Democrats

Is that why the Goron lost in TN?

Is that why Georgia unseated Max Cleland and elected a GoP governor?

Is that why Zell Miller and other GA democrats are supporting President Bush under the Democrats for Bush platform?

Is that why Governor Bush won handily in Florida?

Is that why Kerry said that the biggest mistake the dems have made in the past is to court the south?

....You wish!

"The Saudi War on George Bush!!"

"Saudi Arabia has launched an undeclared war on George W. Bush. This simple fact must be understood by policy and strategy elites, the press, and the general electorate. Otherwise, the Saudis may well succeed in their tacit campaign to sabotage the long term success of America’s war on terror, by engineering the electoral defeat of George W. Bush in November. President Bush has provoked this response by proclaiming his intention to encourage democracy and liberalism in the Middle East, to liberate the Arab masses from despotic rule, bring peace and prosperity to the region, and halt the spread of militant Islamic terror groups. Unlike past Presidents who, in varying degrees, paid lip service to these ideals, President Bush has acted decisively on them. His politically perilous actions, such as his invasions of Afghanistan and Iraq, his conditioning support for a Palestinian state on the cessation of terror, corruption, and dictatorship, and his active promotion and support for liberal groups in the Arab world, have aroused Saudi fears and provoked a quiet counterattack."

The amazing success of this administration has put fear in the hearts of other Arab nations, the liberals in this country, and in the news media. Therefore all three groups are praying for a Kerry win in November.

32 years ago today I met the (soon to be) Missuz for the first time. It was a blind date. We went to see a James Bond movie. We were so young and happy.

"Kerry's Agenda: Raise Taxes, Cut Intel...A Lot!!"

"Then-Senate Intel Chair Dennis DeConcini (D-AZ) Said Previous Cuts Were “As Deep As The Intelligence Community Can Withstand,” And Kerry’s 1994 Proposal Ignored Terrorism, Imperiled National Security. “[L]ast year’s intelligence cut was as deep as the intelligence community can withstand during its post-cold-war transition. … We no longer seem immune from acts of terrorism in the United States and the scourge of narcotics has hardly abated. … It makes no sense for us to close our eyes and ears to developments around the world …” (Sen. Dennis DeConcini, Congressional Record, 2/10/94, p. S1360)

"32 years ago today I met the (soon to be) Missuz for the first time."

WOW!!
Congrats, kid!
Can't argue with success, right?

"It was a blind date. We went to see a James Bond movie."

"Blind" for you, maybe; but, don't kid yourself, either.
This gal you married knew a good man when she saw one so your future -- unbeknownst to you, maybe -- was "spoken for." {g}

"We were so young and happy."

Yea I'll bet, no doubt.

Best part of all?

...ya still are, too. ;^)

"President Bush has provoked this response by proclaiming his intention to encourage democracy and liberalism in the Middle East, to liberate the Arab masses from despotic rule, bring peace and prosperity to the region, and halt the spread of militant Islamic terror groups."

Y'know Mudbot, this POTUS had to have known his action(s) might precipitate the response we're seeing from the Saudis.
That they could very well jack oil prices through the roof to send a *message* thereby casting the administration in a bad light for the upcoming election.

There's *some* kind of strategy at work here, so let us all watch & see what kind of *influence* he can wield over these ungrateful SOBs to bring 'em into line with reality, shall we?

If there's ONE thing I hold his father responsible for, it'd be stopping Hussein before he could lay waste to that so-called country of robed ingrates.

No one knows how this is going to play out and I just wished people realized that gasoline et al has a "shelf life" & if not used within say, 30 days?
It'll spoil.
Then OPEC all the way down to the local gas station then can *eat* the stuff for all I care.

As far as frivoulous driving which'll burn more gasoline than necessary goes, or, threats of $3 per gal this summer goes?

Take *one* guess what I'm [not] going to be doing?

...just *one* guess, though. {g}

Really? What about my gas can that I use to fill my--push--lawnmower? That gas has been in there since last fall...should I throw it away? FWIW...as the purported cheapskate and packrat, I don't throw away diddly.

I do agree that we oughtta figger out a way to flex our muscles as the largest consumer of the Saudi's only export...we need to find a more reliable producer fer our addiction, then tell the Saudis to go fly a kite!!

Nice day out...little chilly. Our State legislators continue to fight to raise our taxes, but the House Republicans are doing a good job in the stand-off so far. How are things in your corner of the globe?!
